The thought of combining a clematis with my climbing English Rose

is intriguing. So a Windsor Arch planted with a climbing English Rose Princess Margareta (apricot) on each side perhaps would like nice with a clematis weaving in and out through the canes. What in your opinion would you suggest for the clematis in color and type? This arch is adjacent to a perennial bed in my backyard. The second question is shall I wait until the canes begin to grow and then add a clematis or at the same time?

Thanks for your recommendations.
