Your English is wonderful! I had no problem, at all, understanding every word you wrote. I only hope that you can understand me/us! English can be very difficult to learn, I've heard... I couldn't imagine trying to learn it at my advanced age! :-)

Your flower is very beautiful... but it's not Ragtime, I'm sorry to say. I would say it's possibly Aphrodite... as the flower matures, it will be easier to tell for certain. Whatever its name, it's a lovely flower!

Tongduchon for 16 months in 1960-1962. I once spoke Korean
well, and could write some,but time and not using it has taken that from me. I suggest that you google for Hippeastrum forums. There are several. There are also many internet sellers. When you read these forums,you will discover which are best.

Hello, Minsung! I am so happy to greet you! I have two daughters from Korea and one is named MinKyung! When she was 18 we found out she has a twin sister named SunKyung! Now we are all good friends and love her twin like she was one of my own! The girls are 28 yrs old now, and got to meet 3 yrs ago. What fun that was! They are identical twins. Soon we hope to be spending a few years in Korea for my husbands work! I would love to be able to ask you questions about living there! (Different perspective then our dear SunKyung would give me).

What ever your flower is, I really like it. It has very delicate colors! Somehow it does not look like any of my Aphrodite either.

I am wondering, if I come to Korea will I be able to find Amaryllis there to grow? I have nearly 200 that I will be leaving here and I am worried that I will miss them too much, even if I can leave them with my best friend!

I have Aprodite.
The above-mentioned amaryllis a little bit differs from Aprodite .
Aprodite has more tepals.. so looks more luxuriant.. doesn't it?

Your bloom looks very beautiful. You're lucky you can find rare cultivars in Korea. We don't have those amaryllis here.

¾Ã³ç ¹Ã¼º ~ Welcome to the forum. Although I am not 100% sure, I think what you have may be an variety called "Double Picotee". It's a more uncommon variety because it's a older hybrid but it's been becoming slowly available again due to demand. The pictures you posted are of the flower during it's beginning/preliminary stages. Can you post a picture of the mature flowers -- when they are fully open?

You're funny, Tally! :-) It's so true, though... we speak such a jumble of slang and improperly used words... I couldn't imagine having to learn English at my age!

The internet has made the world a lot smaller, and we find that people in different areas, different countries, are the same as we are... we have the same hopes and dreams, the same hobbies, and the same things are important to us. Through GardenWeb, I've made some wonderful friends, and some live on the opposite side of the globe!

It's nice that we can share our love of bulbs, our love of gardening, with others... and we can learn about the different ways we all culture our bulbs, and the different seasons and ways of gardening. And one of the best parts is that we're able to share this in picture form, so we can see what gardening is like around the world!
