Design Details: Introduce a Hit of Red
Crimsons and Scarlets Act Like the Cherry on Top of These Rooms

Candy apple-red fingernails, the cherry on top of a sundae, a slick two-seater sports car — sometimes red can make the biggest impact when done in small doses. For the same reason the hue is used for emergency exits and fire extinguishers (re: it attracts the eye), it can also draw one's attention to a special accent in a room. If you've got a light fixture, chair or other piece that you really want to pop, consider dousing it in this fiery shade.
The dining area looks like it's the life of the party in this open concept space. What a great way to call people to the table without saying a word.
People will gather around this coffee table like moths to a flame. Luckily, seating options have aligned themselves accordingly.
My eyes are immediately drawn to the amazing vintage film posters in this room because there's little to compete with their vibrant colors.
Tip: A red frame or mat could do the same trick of calling attention to a piece of art that doesn't have quite as much of the hue in it as the posters seen here.

Bright yellow pairs beautifully with white, but together they could use something with a smidge more substance. A few well-placed red accents do the job with a few hits of a deeper shade.
This bedroom sticks to soothing tones for better rest and relaxation. But when the light goes on, it's time to get amped for the day or night ahead.
Similarly, the table lamps here are too kitschy and fun to let fade into the background. Coat in a lacquer-y red to make sure they get the attention they deserve.
There's no doubt as to what's the apple of this homeowner's eye — that Aga range in crimson red makes it pretty clear.
It takes a lot to compete with a granny smith apple green, but this red upholstered chair is giving that lamp a run for its money.
These stools can tuck under the island to provide more space in this small kitchen, but thanks to their attention-seeking color, you're unlikely to forget about them under there.
Barn-red Adirondack chairs call to you from across the garden like a beacon. I believe they're saying, "Come sit in me and enjoy the view!"
It would be difficult to fully appreciate the shape of these sconces if they were in any other hue against that off-white background. In red, you see every arm and curve.
