'you don't give me flowers ..anymore'

So I just told the DH that there's 3 cubic yards of composted horse manure and three yards of triple mix being dropped on the driveway tomorrow.

Who needs another piece of jewelery, or a dozen red roses. Just give me the stuff I really need!

(gotta pump up that wheel barrow tire)

I second that! I told DH all I want for Mothers Day is a soil meter and dirt...thats it,I don't need any of that other stuff anymore,I will probably spend the rest of my life out there planting all these sprouts anyway...lol..

If I followed that correctly, you have two DDs 15/14, the SS13, a DD10 and a DS9, and SS8. Since you're not mentioning real stepmom issues or fighting stepsibling issues, I'm going to venture your problem may have more to do with the SS13 feeling a bit the odd wheel who really is just rather bored and at a bit of a difficult age. He's got two stepsisters at the age of girl teen *stuff*, two stepsiblings (the 9/10 yr) who are younger and less into teen boy *stuff*, and a younger brother who fits in agewise and interest with the 9/10 yr olds. He has nobody to hang with that is interested in his age/gender interests and with a large family unit dad can't take them all out and spend it up like crazy all the time. Yeah, sounds pretty boring to a 13 yr old. I like dad spends time one on one with him (movie/music), really does not sound like you are doing anything to push him away or make him feel rejected. Maybe SS13 could occasionally invite a same age male friend along and play music or watch vids together, somebody to give SS somebody to relate to on his level? The BM and you both both being at events is something BM and DH are going to have to work out. I hear this a lot here and I really never seem to get the big issue over it. With the boys ask you to attend and want you to attend and you ladies keep to your own space, I don't get why one or the other should stay home. I would imagine with so many kids in these age groups that both you and BM have kids in these events, why would either one of you be expected to stay home if you both have kids pertaining to these events.

Hi, I am new to this forum but reading everyone's comments made me feel so much better about the way I feel. I have been with my fiance for 11 years since his son was 2 years old. His ex is a psychopath, she has tried to kill herself multiple times in front of the child and suffers from bipolar and depression. We have been to court multiple times and everytime her family swoops in to protect her and the child says he wants to stay with his mom. We just got finished wasting $6k on an attorney for family court because she broke up with her boyfriend, went out drinking and got a dwi and then told the cops she was going to kill herself so she spent the weekend handcuffed to a hospital bed. She has manipulated her son into thinking that everything is his father's fault. He is now 13 years old and just called up my fiance to tell him he doesnt want to talk to him or see him anymore, and my fiance is beside himself. We have done so much, he is such a wonderful father, he never says a bad word about his ex to his child and has done everything to try to make up for the stress his mother puts him through and this is how he is repaid. I have spent the past 11 years giving up my weekends to have his son here, we sold our house last year to buy a house in his school district because she couldn't find am apartment I'm the district. We have gone above and beyond, I just can't take anymore. Now I have to see all of the pain my fiance is going through and there is nothing I can do. I feel helpless and deep down in side I'm happy to get a break. I just feel like I have never had a life with my fiance that didn't involve his son and his ex and now I could possibly have a chance but he is so broken over his son. I feel horrible saying this but I dont care if he doesnt come over anymore on the weekends the only reason I care is because it hurts my fiance so badly. I also fear how it will be when his son decides to come back around because I am angry for what he has done to his father and have a lot of resentment. Sometimes I feel like just giving up.

He wants sex but you're never in the mood? If you're looking for a bunch of women to sit here and tell you you're right and he doesn't appreciate what he has, don't read my post. What I will say might make you mad.... but then if you give any attempt at following my advice it will save your relationship. Go pick up a copy of "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" by Dr. Laura. There are comments after comments from men who were unhappy in their marriages. The comment is there, over and over - "My wife won't sleep with me, I think she doesn't love me." You gave an example of how HE started a fight earlier in the day.... looks to me like YOU started the fight. I'll repost here: "We were walking out of Walmart and he was carrying four 12 packs of soda. I asked if he wanted them in the trunk or the backseat, he said he didn't care. I asked again for him to just pick one, and an argument broke out. I told him all I wanted was for him to answer the question, he said he did, I said I just wanted him to pick one of the choices I gave him. He told me to get over it, and get over myself. Told me it didn't matter, I should just accept his answer, make the decision myself, and get over it. I told him that at the moment I was over him. He said he didn't care." So.... he didn't care if you put some soda in the trunk or the back seat, and you demanded that he give you an answer? What a controlling thing to do. "Just pick one," you said.... wow, that's rude. Why does he have to pick one? Why did you demand he pick one instead of just accepting that he really didn't give a flying woohoo if the pop went in the back seat or trunk? I'll break down the psychology on what happened there. You asked him to pick something. He gave an honest answer - it made no difference to him. You took that as him not caring about you in some way, and you made a power grab. "Just pick one." You were trying to control him. You started the fight because it bothered you that he didn't care. You said, "I just wanted him to pick one of the choices I gave him." Why did he have to do what you wanted him to do? Why were you so demanding? Because you wanted the control. By now, you have either matured a lot and realized you don't need to demand an answer from him or you have split. By now, you have hopefully realized that whether you like it or not, sex, and enjoying sex, is part of your duties in your marriage, just like sleeping in the same bed with you is part of your husband's duty. Now, just so you have some background on me.... I have taken a chunk out of my day to write this to you because I was once in your position. I felt like my husband didn't love me. He also didn't want to hang out with me. After a huge fight, he told me he wasn't happy with me. So I got pissed. I felt abandoned. I didn't feel like sleeping with him so he didn't get any. I also started petty little fights with him all the time. (By the way, I know why you did that, it's because there's so much hurt and resentment lying just under the surface boiling and wanting to come out). I don't know what causes it... but I felt like I had the right to demand that my husband answer stupid questions like "where should I put the pop," too. And all it did was make me miserable. So, here's how I fixed it. I read that stupid book by Dr. Laura (whom I really don't like anyway). I learned about what my husband thought about me. I learned about how he thinks. I learned that when I say "I'm not in the mood" he hears "I don't love you." If you want to keep your man, you'll figure out how to get in the mood. You'll actually eventually enjoy and need it, too. Next, I promised myself I was going to let the little arguments go. I was going to work on being extra nice, even when I didn't think he was being nice to me or I thought he was being rude. Please understand, we used to scream at each other and break up. Neighbors once complained about our fighting. Our kid was involved. It wasn't an easy mess to fix, but I promise it was MY mess to fix. I'm so glad I did. By putting my guard down and just putting love out there toward him (AND SEX), I found my best friend. And he knows how lucky he is to have me, and I can't imagine life without him, even for a minute. I wish you the best of luck in your journey :)

I love your strawberry wall! What did you use to hold up the pots? The round metal bits, what are they? I'd love to do something like this but I'm afraid the only place I could put them would be hit by the basketball all the time. Maybe I could tuck them in a corner by house. I have stuff I don't need because I'm too lazy to go through it. LOL Actually, I want to scan a bunch of the kids artwork and projects, and that is a time consuming rainy day task. I guess I could have worked on it throughout the winter. I got rid of a bunch of stuff when I did the kitchen, but I need to get the lights fixed in the basement to do anything down there. I need a nice sunny day for that, since I'll have to shut off the breaker and there's not much natural light. I'm kind of afraid to take down the fluorescent thing but it doesn't work anyway, and I might get lucky and find a junction box up there under all the fluorescent stuff. Texas, I'm glad you're making progress. OldBat, your greenhouse looks great. Your plants are really coming along. Schicksal, I have doilies my Gramma made. I don't really use them, but I won't throw them out.

man i 3rd that!!! LOL when we go and he shows me stuff that he likes and he'll ask me if i want one?? i'm like no way!!! give me somethat that is usable!! LOL i like things that if it gets lost or something its no biggi or i can absolutely use!! i'm sorry but i just don't like the rings or the flowers that are stems and the jewlery and such, now if the flowers were in dirt, hmmmm, LOL he did that once, i was sooo happy!! the best thing he got me was a new hose from sams club, its a kink free, 150ft. awesome hose!! LOL now if i could have manuer and vermiculite dumped, man!!! LOL i'd be jumping up and down, ohhh and perilite!! LOL

I thought I was the only one that asked for things like that!!!! I got a small tiller for our 4th wedding annivesary, a portable greenhouse for my birthday and money to buy plants any other special occation!!! People at his job, have such a kick out of out special occations because they know that I'll be getting somekind of gardening gear. I just love that man!!! (by the way, he does buy me jewelery, but the only one I wear is my wedding ring). But when he comes home with a new shovel, pruners, or anyother garden item, to me it's better than getting chocolate or flowers!!!

As stated above; "I thought I was the only one that asked for gardening things!" Counldn't be more true for me too!

My birthday is May 4th, and my sons asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I told them, "Poop for my gardens!" they think I am weird! My husband does not even ask anymore, he just say's you tell me what you want and I'll get it! Then shakes his head and goes on!

I am right there with all of you - when asked what I am going to do with that 'little' check from the government I tell them it is going to DIRT. We had already planned on some major bed overhauls and that check will fit right into our plans......

DH already knows!! I get stuff like water wands, plants (my first Hosta last year!), ect. for my B-day. This year he's taken the wood from deck we just tore down to build me a 2 bin compost system. The open pile method doesn't work too good here as well as it did in North Dakota. The summer humidity here is just too low and the moisture zapped right out into the dry air. I'm don't pay enough attention to watering the pile enough to keep up!

I get lots of garden stuff, too. Some for recent birthdays and Christmas have been seedling tools, paper pot maker, plant mister, garden and compost books, compost thermometer, Pro-Mix, circle hoe...

My husband still buys me fresh flowers for the house, though. Once every week or two he comes home with a bouquet of flowers for me. I love it, because I love having fresh flowers in the house all year. Except roses, which cost too much and die too fast. He's learned that, and sticks to longer lasting, less expensive ones that I prefer. (Sending him to the grocery is a sure-fire way to get flowers.)

Since my birthday is the day before Mother's Day, I'll have to convince DH to do something romantic like Wendy suggests. I don't need jewelry either, but boy would I love a load of top soil and mulch! LOL

my hubbie & i started dating 4 months b4 my birthday. so when my big day rolled around he asked me what i wanted.

my response? "ohhhh, i'd LOVE new windshield wipers!"

honestly? it was one of the best presents i EVER got. the fact that i didn't need to take time out to go to the auto parts store and figure out what the heck kind of windshield wipers i needed was HEAVEN.

take something off my plate that i want absolutely no responsibility for and i'm yours forever! :o)

Last year for mothers day I asked for a truck full of dirt, my hubbys boss thought I was loosing it, BUT I got my truck load...and now I am thinking of asking for another one this year...LOL

For my Bday a few weeks ago, I was given a potters bench, and the next day I found a GH on clearance..SOO I am all set for a lonnnnng time !
