Comments (3)Make sure the roots weren't eaten off by voles, there by making them fall over. I found out about the pesky critters when I once leaned against a small dogwood and if fell over. It lifted out of the ground like a stake- no roots. If its not that, and just the canes bending down from the heavy weight of the rain soaked flowers, do as instructed above. You can always add some green staking to support the interior of the plant if it does not have room to sprawl. If the canes stay down like that, you will get lots of growth on all the horizontal canes at each leaf-stem junction. Again, that may or may not be a bad thing depending on how much room you have....See MoreKnockout Roses under Maple? Birch?
Comments (7)to sum it up.. the greatest weed in the world .... GRASS ... WILL NOT GROW UNDER A NORWAY ... ergo .. nothing else will.. for very long ... you should have chosen a better tree if you wanted to garden under your tree ... in the alternative ... get rid of it.. and plant oak .... i understand you have 2 investments in it.. money and love ... but if you want to garden under trees... it has to go .. birch have many surface roots .... and it might be tricky to find things that will grow under them.. but it is not as bad as the maple.... and the canopy is not as dense so there is more light .... good luck ken...See Morewhen to bring potted knock-out rose tree inside
Comments (13)Follow Michael's and Susan's advice and it should be fine. I keep my rose tree in my shed for the winter and in the spring when things start to warm up I can tell when it looks like it wants to start budding out. That's when I wheel it back outside into the light. If there is going to be a deep freeze I wheel it back in. That's when the wheeled pot trolley is the most beneficial. It makes it much easier to move that big, heavy, tall awkward pot in and out. I've been doing this for 6 years now and it's still doing great!...See Morestlgal
