I wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. You give me my daily dose with my coffee of entertainment in the morning all year long. Reading up on what folks are saying and looking at all the beautiful rose photos posted.

I am thankful for the fact that I have lasted at work as long as I have. I could now retire if my job were to be abolished, again. I'm not quite old enough for a full retirement, but I am eligible for an early one. I am also thankful for the few friends that I have and the few family members that are still living. I don't live close to any of them, but there is always the phone and e-mail. I am also thankful for all-wheel drive in the winter. A well-designed system works delightfully on my hilly street in the snow and ice. I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. We traveled down to the Stephenville, TX, area for Turkey Day, where our extended family had the largest Thanksgiving gathering we'd had in several years, including 3 new babies born into the family since last Thanksgiving. It was fun and since the weather was so gorgeous, the older children got to run around and play outside all afternoon. The only downside to having Thanksgiving at someone else's house is that you don't have leftovers. I'm thinking about cooking a turkey and dressing tomorrow because I do like it, and don't mind having turkey leftovers for a few days. Larry, It is my most favorite holiday too. We had only Texans and Okies at our gathering though, so not nearly as diverse of a group as yours. I remember looking around the living room/dining room at one point and thinking just how grateful I was that we all are still here and were together for the holiday. I avoided all the Black Friday shopping nonsense too, which is one more thing for which to be grateful! Dawn

i went through my hip replacement last winter. I was on a walker for two weeks but healed fast after that. Part of my recovery was the doctor wanted me to walk a mile everyday. so i did it 1/3 mile 3 times a day. Took my binoculers and slowly walked thu an area that has lots of birds, took my time and checked out the trees and shrubs and spotted birds i would not have seen otherwise.

I have the smell of pumpkin pies baking in the oven and roses in a vase at the sink, all is right in my house tonight and I can hear the sound of rain that we need so bad outside. Sweet:)

We had happy news this morning----Robyn's two boys will be joining us---now if Melissa would just come too----that would make all of us every happy.

I'm grateful for all my many cyber friends here.

The rose pictures are gorgeous and so appropriate for the fall.

I responded here a few days ago, and as my old story goes, lost the post as I was "about to"!! Grrrrrrrrr!

Anyway guys, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Thanks to those nice comments about my picture.

Kate, Yes you do see Double Delight, also Golden Celebration, Tamora and Amber Queen. That picture is one of flower arrangements that I made for our Probus Club last summer pic-nic dinner. I intend to post them one of these days in the gallery. I think they turned out really quite nice "the pictures"!
