My Iceburg does this in the fall. There are pink dots all over the blossoms. Maybe it is weather related? I`m a novice, so I`m not an expert by any means. Lesley

The pink dots are not part of the rose, but botrytis blight, a disease common in cool damp weather. Iceberg is very susceptible to those pink dots.

My neighbor showed this rose as pink iceberg, it was disqualified for being mislabelled. It's not white enough to be iceberg and not pink enough to be a pink blend iceberg sport. So what is it?

See roselvr's (Sue) post on the Rose ID forum. It *could* be Brilliant Pink Iceberg, but even then, I would think it might show a lot more pink than in this photo.

Until we see another photo, I agree with the others, I think it is Iceberg, I have seen it this color at times during the season, especially on older blooms.

Iceberg can have a pink blush depending on the weather. The polka dots are botrytis.

I guess I didn't see where you said it's a climber, Brilliant Pink Iceberg isn't a climber. Do you have a bush shot?

What I was saying in your other post, some of the early Brilliant Pink Icebergs did not bloom the way they should, they were more white. I don't know if it's because of the way they were grafted back then or what.

If you say the rose is climbing, then it is most likely climbing iceberg.

Look at the links I posted. Yes, it can be confusing, especially since this rose sports. I mentioned I had 3 BPI's, none bloom the same. I also have burgundy, white plus the climber.

Chances are, the rose was not marked correctly. Your friend has either Iceberg or Iceberg climbing. As was mentioned the pink dots are a disease.

FWIW, you need to read the links posted. Your friend doesn't have a polka dotted rose. Your friend also has a mismarked rose. As was mentioned in both threads, it is probably iceberg or it is climbing iceberg. Look at the photos, read the information on the links.

I asked my neighbor more questions, based on what people here have said: This rose is 4 years old. Yes, she says it was labeled "brilliant pink iceberg". Which it was labeleld at a rose show, then disqualified as mislabeled. Anyone think it's a cecile Brunner?

No, I think it is Climbing Iceberg. Not close to Cecile Brunner at all.

What is the cane length?
Is she pruning it?
Can you get a bush shot?

My 1st guess after seeing the pics of climbing Iceberg is that is what it is. The next choice would be Iceberg.

These roses are sports, some times they bloom closer to what they were taken from, and that's my main Brilliant Pink Iceberg, but my coloring is a little better then your friends rose.

I was going to also mention Charles Aznavour which I also have but your friends rose has more petals.

Go back to the descriptions of each rose I linked to. Each is different with scent. If the rose is blooming, do you smell anything?

Have her look at the photos of the roses, ask her if she's seen similar blooms on hers. Is her rose mostly white?
