Oh my goodness... they SO did NOT have them a while back when I placed MY HUGE order with them! LOVE THEM!! mmmm..... I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore seeds this winter but I also promised myself no more seed trades until I get my ws'ing done & I broke that promise today cause I signed up for yet another! Sharbear50 - we have friends in Bella Vista!!! I have to confess that the grunt work on these projects was done by someone else. I'm in my 70's and there is no way my body would let me do any of this. The fountain has an interesting back story. At the close of my professional life, I was a self-employed web site designer. I did a site for a fellow who installed fountains and ponds and, due to his circumstances, never got paid. After several years, I simply wrote off the debt. Then, out of the blue, I got a call from him. Seems he got "religion" and wanted to compensate me for my work. He asked if I would like a pond or fountain installed at his expense. I leaped at the opportunity. He traveled more than 600 miles, and spent three very hot days here, digging the hole for the tank, installing the fountain, etc. We did put him up and feed him, but he worked like a mule! In the end, we were both very happy with the results.

What you are seeing is probably fungus gnat larvae. Placing a mosquito dunk in your watering can will get rid of them. I've also heard placing bay leaves in the containers works. Spidermites like sundews and pings so keep them away from where the MG was.

I've not heard of using peat and parboiled rice hulls, but I do know the "Pink Polka Dot" plants are humidity lovers. I've never had much luck with them because I live in the high desert, with often single digit humidity readings, so I take care to buy plants that can handle lower humidity. You really do have to put thought into what types of plants will do best in your situation. Do you have air conditioning on? This can also really dry out the air. Is your plant on a pebble tray? That will help with humidity. So will misting once or twice a day. The misting only has a brief effect, but it makes me feel like I'm doing something for my plants! I agree about the peat. I'd buy a good potting soil (not moisture retentive) and mix it with nearly half perlite. I agree that you need to post a picture.
