Please Help me find more info on Oldcastle

I have the opportunity to get this rose, which I think is no longer available, but I cannot find a single piece of information on it. Before I commit to buy this, can anyone tell me anything about it?

Many sets of china are made witihout a teapot. Do you know where your grandmother got the china? There was a lot of china during the 70's that was sold/given away at supermarkets, drugstores and the like....you saved your register slips and with say $50 of slips and $5 you got a place setting.... I suspect that the companies which made the china for these promotions were larger companies making a specialized pattern. I have a set of 24 plates and mugs and salad bowls that are made in England which I boughtw ith the register slip and cash program. My daughter has a set of "Liberty Blue" which were my mother's, that came from the register slip and $5 program Some patterns were very popular....others not so much. Mommy2twocuties, we determined our main floor square footage by first deciding which rooms we had to have on that floor. As far as room sizes, one thing I did to visualize was to measure the sizes of rooms we had in our existing house and use that as a jumping off point. For example we had a dining room at the existing home that was 11x11. I knew from living in that space that it was much too tight for the table and china cabinet that we had and the buffet that I want someday. Based on that, I knew that 14x16 was the minimum size that I wanted. We also used the same formula for determining approximate sizes for the family room, bedrooms, walk in closets and kitchen. Because our existing rooms already had the furniture and stuff that would be moving with us, it made the numbers feel real to us and give some additional perspective. Once you know what you want/need for rooms on a floor, and the approximate size of each, you can better ball park the square footage that you are looking at. It will still bloat up with hallways, stairwells and closets, but you will know if you need to be looking at 1500, 2100, or 2800 square feet to accommodate your wants.

I think I could recreate it if I could find 2" diamonds. In the sidebar of the Country Home photo, it shows some other (cheaper) tile options that could produce a similar look. Unfortunately, they show 4" diamonds and hex as an option, but that would make the scale way too big. If I bite the bullet and get the P&L stuff, I'm actually thinking I'd like to put this in our laundry room where I'd only need about 7.5 square feet. Still, that's $700+. Not sure I can justify that. I don't know if I can talk my husband into it, but my next choice would be to do as some of you suggested and put it above our cooktop. Because we have a 9" stainless backsplash, I'd only have room for one row of "circles," but if it were framed nicely, I think it would look wonderful. That would only be $150ish. The next challenge would be ordering it. There are only two Pratt and Larson showrooms in our state, and the nearest is 4.5 hours from here. I could have it shipped, I suppose, but that adds further to the cost. Anyway, I think it's a beautiful, beautiful backsplash design! If any of you know where to find 2" diamond tiles, I'd love to know! :o)

I think I might be the only one out here for now with it. Beth will have it in a few weeks also. I sell quite a few of my extra's, expecially the roses I buy as unrooted cuttings from UCD FPS. At best, I only need two of them, and since I have to buy in bundles of 5, the extra's are sold. Not the case with the aforementioned rose. That is not VID. I try to sell just enough to pay for my nursery license.

No, I'm not Roseguyla!! This is a rose I was looking for many yrs ago. I never really knew too much about it, except that the pics I had seen (and I can't even remember where) were so beautiful. Hortico had listed it in their catalog back in the mid-90's, but of course, when I tried to order it they were sold out. Never saw it again. When Mike mentioned having seen it last yr, I told him how I had wanted one and so, when he got the cuttings, he offered one to me. The rest he is selling to others who are interested.

McGleason, I truly appreciate your effort to avoid conflict of interest but it will work only if you answer emails and requests addressed to you off the board/forum. :-)

Funny you say that becuase Karl (rosenut) said the same thing to me. I guess either I'm not getting emails or the email address somewhere is incorrect. I'll have to check my spam filter to see what is getting blocked.

I sent myself an email using the forum here and it never came in. My email address is correct, so I have to think that my email provider (Comcast) is treating these as spam. I changed the spam filter to go to a separate folder, so I'll see if that works.
