think the 'gang' would be more into beer and fries, but you are talking lasagna ... thickness of layers doesn't matter - try it, wouldn't be something I'd do, but it'd prolly feed the worms

I haven't tried that, but I'll offer my thoughts on it.

You're better off with a variety of materials when you compost, but if all you have is coffee grounds and newspapers, you'll have a mix of browns and greens, so they'll compost.

One potential drawback is that that could end up repelling water. I think that both newspapers and coffee grounds can repel water under certain circumstances, but if the layers are that thin, you may not run into it.

The newspaper would probably decompose faster if you shred it first. It'll still decompose unshredded, but I think one reason people use a layer of newspapers when they lasagna garden is to lay down a weed supressing layer that will decompose slowly.

You may also need to experiment with the thickness of the layers to get the right C:N ratio.

You might want to try it on a small area first, and expand if it works well.

ok, I will try it in one of my pots first. I am going to line the pot with newspaper, poke holes for drainage, then start alternating layers. Also, I might add some human compost exclerator to jump start the whole shebang.

I don't think I'd experiment like that in a pot. Container gardening is very different from outdoor gardening, and what works in one may not work in the other.

You may very well have a serious hard time keeping it wet. Liquid gold may push you over the top on amount of nitrogen- as long as you have a reasonable amount of cofee grounds, I have doubts that pee will make it go any faster (just might make it smell bad).

Since you also have leaves (from previous post)- mix those with the coffee grounds.
