Slimy compost - advice please

I'm a newbie composter and just started composting earlier this summer. Our pile is mostly kitchen scraps and grass clippings right now. We've been building the pile and letting it do its thing since late June. Yesterday my husband turned the pile. He said that it was a wet, slimy mess.

So...is this what it should look like or do we need to really revamp the composition of our pile? Having enough browns for the pile is an obvious problem for us, but I could make myself start shredding newspapers and adding that to the pile. Do we need to turn more often?

Any advise on how to remedy our pile (if it indeed needs to be remedied) is appreciated!
