Roman Shower - Has anyone tried this?
Comments (24)Notice that the FAQ on the site does not include information on the volume of water needed to fill the tub! Well, I did the math. Their smallest recommended size is about 65" long, 34" wide and filled about 16" deep for a bath. Note that this is not an impressive shower size. (The one in the ad is probably 60 inches wide.) That is 153 gallons of water. This 2 person air massage tub at 23" deep uses only 2 gallons more. There is a lot of cubic area lost to corners in a square tub. The one below uses 2 gallons less than the smallest recommended size and depth of your "Roman Shower" and it has a depth of 19.5" inches. Note that the woman in the Roman Shower video seems to have only 8" - 10" of water when she leaves the tub. Disabled, elderly, or otherwise less mobile people would have a heck of a time getting out of the "tub" with the Roman Shower, too. There is no heater for it, either. By the time it was deep enough for a bath, the water would have cooled a lot, warming up all the tile and substrate in the Roman Shower with its excess surface area with square corners. It may be a step above the home made sunken roman baths of the 1960s and 1970s, but it is nothing like a comfortable modern bathtub....See MoreHas anyone has tried grafting the Little Fiddle onto reg size Fiddle
Comments (0)Hey guys so here’s my question: I’m wondering if anyone has tried grafting the Little Fiddle (the new variety with the smaller leaves) onto the larger trunks of the regular fiddle leaf fig. I’ve been growing mine for several years now and I think that the combination of the leaf size and the height overall just doesn’t provide the optics that I am after ie: A standard shape - lollipop. The ones people post on social and in magazines must be really large taken in rooms with a very high ceilings. Either that or mine just has giant leaves. I do bring it outside during the summer so I can cut and prune to get more branching; but last year I didn’t because I don’t want to get much bigger anyway.... I think the smaller leaves of the little fiddle variety would look nice atop a 4 foot trunk. If I’m correct that look can’t be achieved with the little fiddle variety since they only get about 4’ tall overall....See MoreHas anyone tried the silicone "invisilift" type bras?
Comments (29)Nekotosh, I am pretty shot at 5'2. I used to weigh around 95 to 105. Perhaps back then I could use those. Now, that age has cuaght up with me along with menopause, there is no way I could pull off a strapless or spaghetti sleeve dress unless I went on a hunger strike for a couple of months. That still would not pretty! lol...See MoreHas Anyone Here Tried on this Dress from Anthropologie?
Comments (18)I may just do that. I am bored and sick and tired. :( Lucille, the place is a lovely resort/ town and their Arts Institute (funded by a mandatory assessment on all homeowners!) is hosting this first ever event. There will be a multicourse dinner at a very, very nice restaurant, the party/ mystery, and afterwards we will change into casual wear for a bonfire, smores and cocoa or warm adult beverages. Breakfast the next morning and then away. I am going with a dear friend I haven’t seen in several months. Ironically we were both in the Netherlands at the same time but DH and I were on a boat and he was in a bike trip. His schedule is very busy and we are carving out this time to carch up....See Moretexasgrass
