Newby needs help with watering system

OK, gardeing experts, I could really use some help. A few years ago, my hubby and I had raised beds created around the perimeter of our house. Looks great, but it takes me 2 hours to water each night. We have a well and have tried putting a lawn sprinkler on in the front and back, but water pressure seems to be bad when sprinklers are on together. Also, most of my plants (shrubs, perennials and roses cannot be top watered.

I'm looking to determine what type of watering system we should install. We have a modest budget, so I'm not sure what would be best. Should we just get a bunch of good soaker hoses or consider a drip irrigation system like Toro or Raintree? If we go with a drip irrigation system, does it need to be installed professionally, or can hubby set up? Also, how much does something like this cost? Would like to have a system where plants can be watered each day and set on a timer. Nothing fancy.

Could really use some sage advice before heading to our local gardeing center.
