Synthetic grease sounds like a winner to me. My current tube of regular grease in my grease gun has about expired and with the little bit that I go through, a tube of the expensive synthetic grease will last me a while. Yeah, how about that Gorilla glue?...that is some strong stuff. I don't even have to use screws to hold the wood together after the glue dries.

Update on Cam / Valve Cover swap: Just wanted to let everyone know that the cast aluminum valve cover for the GSV190 will replace the pressed sheetmetal cover for the GCV160. I paid $9 for the cast aluminum version, which isn't too bad; unfortunately, the gasket cost me an additional $9 (kind of a rip off, but whatcha going to do?). Anyway,it's pretty much a bolt on change, other than having to get 4 longer bolts, due to the 1/2" thicker flanges on the cast aluminum cover. Went with M6-1.0 x 25 mm. This is a fairly cheap, easy mod. Would be even cheaper if using gasket maker vs the real gasket... The new cast cover is very thick and should hold up much better than the thin pressed sheet metal cover. Again, I'm surprised by how thin and flimsy this part is to be in such an exposed area. I guess that's why the GSV series has the better cover...

Well its not big enough to have everything but Henderson [between here and Vegas] does have everything and is only 15 minutes away. Vegas only another 15 minutes. Real estate hype? New home sales are way down as they are across the country. Apparently its worse here on the average but they say Vegas stands to recover quicker then most due to all the new jobs being created with new Hotel/Casino's being built. Of course another 911 could once again put the gaming industry in the pooper as it did on 911 because folks were afraid to travel. Took a couple of years to climb out of it last time. Yeah, spending decades doing something you don't like is a real bummer. I stumbled into this after doing many other things and found I liked repairing stuff. I would advise others starting out to find what they like and then find an outlet that has all the benefits including retirement though. Its tough in this business to find that and I wasn't smart enough to do it. They're out there though but you have to play the game and may take a while to get in. I woke up to it too late. Government based is the way to go in this business. The school district is the # one source around here. They pay as well as any private business and have all the benefits. Just some advise for newbies to the business to heed.

Thanks for all the help. I had time today to get most of the work done. I went a bit nuts (for me) and removed the deck so I could really clean the underside really well. Took a little longer than I planned, but generally went well. The grease part was pretty easy (thanks to all of your help.) I did not changes the fuel line (didn't really need to -- I read somewhere it was a good idea to change those after 5 years, but I have not had any real problems with it .. so I left it as-is.) One problem I did have -- I could not get the old oil filter off. Not sure if it just was tightened to hard last time, or not lubed enough around the gasket. I just went ahead and put the new oil in and moved on with the old filter (Kohler actually only recommends changing it every other oil change.) I have one of the band/clamp oil removal tools, but it's really hard to get any leverage with the tight area. I was going to spray some WD40 around it to see if would loosen it, but thought I would ask around if that was a good idea or not. Any thoughts? Are there any tools that are better for tight spaces?
