I've always had piles but......

I am considering a new compost bin system:) You see I have always composted in place (pile in the garden) being of the opinion that all the good compost juice would not be lost. I have about 1/4 acre of sunny fenced yard to cultivate and slowly develope into both edible and ornamental organic landscape. With the amount of materials I've collected to compost, I want to centralize to one area. The spot I picked has good summer sun but very little this time of year. I am thinking of a 3 bin pallet system with a straw in-ground worm bin for finishing. The pallet bins just seem like more obstacles to turning the piles. Convince me the bins are better than a 15' area that I turn progressively right (or left). Thanks for any insight, and remember I've always had piles:)
