My Imported Anna Jung is Blooming!!!!

I picked up my Anna Jung from Angel Gardens on Valentine's Day - the day it came out of Quarantine. It was so healthy , I couldn't wait for it to bloom, and it finally has!

I ordered a few more of the french imports, and I get to go pick up Florence Ducher this week. The one I can hardly stand waiting for is Isabelle Nabonnand. Can't wait to be able to post a photo of her bloom!

Oh that is a beautiful bloom! I just emailed her about some of those imports but she is out of town at the moment. Isabelle nabonnand looks gorgeous in photos too. How is the fragrance on Anna Jung?

Anna Nicole Smith will be buried in the Bahamas. Judge Larry Seidlin awarded custody of the former Playboy Playmate's body to Richard Milstein - her daughter Dannielynn's court-appointed guardian yesterday (22.02.07). Milstein has decided she should be buried in the Bahamas, next to her son Daniel. Was going to post last night after the ruling. I sat here late afternoon, hoping the judge would decide. When the decision came that he left it up to the guardian of the baby, I was a bit upset; since who knows what they will decide. Thankfully, they decided she belonged next to her son, but unfortunatly, her mother can't accept that. I truely hope it doesn't take forever to hear the appeal and I hope that the mother does not get her way. Ever since I can remember seeing Anna in the news, she's always said she hates her mother. I feel the mother is after what ever money can be had if she's awarded custody of the baby. Sad, very sad. I doubt she thought it would end like this.

French Imports confirmation from VG?

About 6 weeks ago, Gregg sent an email from Vintage stating that the import roses will not be shipped before the Fall of 2013 because the USDA has not yet released them from quarantine. The final USDA inspection is scheduled to take place in August. A number of the 2010 & 2011 French import roses died. As Susan states above, Gregg sent a separate email to people who ordered those, informing us that they will not be available.

I seen the previous posting of Anna Belle and went to the Opt site and ordered one too even though it's more than I would usually pay for one plant. It came in about 7 days. It arrived in great condition, is very big and full of bloom, just like the picture. I was quite surprised at the quality, I expected a much smaller plant and was hoping for bud or bloom and was gladly surprised. I did expect the bloom color to be more blue, it's really more of a purple than blue to my eye, but still very pretty. The leaves are unlike any of my other violets, dark and pointed...a nice contrast with the flower color. Hope you get a great one too! tish

Fighting8r, that series is just amazing!!!The detail and quality of those pictures, and the way it shows the incredible evolution of chrysalis into beautiful butterfly is just too cool! I just love it. Felix, your forest is so serene and looks cool and comfortable. I would hang out there too. Very pretty and peaceful. Hi Nova! Another great butterfly photo! Gracin, that is one beautiful rose. I love the soft color and the many-petalled look. How wonderful to have a rose that's practically unknown in this country!

Thank you every one for letting me share my excitement with you. I'm the only one around here to get excited about a new bloom on a plant. Everyone else is more interested in digging up and eating the fertilizer!

Lauren, I am just not a full fledged Rosarian yet. It never occurred to me to smell the bloom. I just sort of oogle over it every couple hours. I did smell it after you asked, however, and the fragrance is very faint, and not wonderful IMHO.

Glad to see such a lovely photo of Anna Jung! I have a large happy band from Angel Gardens put in the ground recently, too. I was really really happy to get her. I'll look forward to her bloom.

When I looked up this rose online I found pictures it sometimes almost appearing a darker hotter pink mixed with lighter tones? What do you expect from blooms, do you expect them to stay pretty much the way this one bloomed, or is it because it is a young plant that it is mostly pale in color. I would love it if you would post pictures of the plant as a whole as more blooms open. Such a beauty!

I think it probably changes color based on heat/weather/water, etc like some other teas!

I was wondering how Anna is holding up in the heat. I would like to order one, but lots of roses just don't like the Texas heat and humidity, but if it likes Florida it should be ok here. Thanks
