Newbie question about starting seeds, please help! :)

I apologize in advance if this is a ridiculous question, I'm a total newb when it comes to starting seeds...

I started a couple of trays of seeds last night. The trays are the type that have the clear plastic lid. I currently have the trays set up in room that has southeast and southwest facing windows.

I live in N.C. and the outdoor temps are now in high 70's/low 80's (high) and lows are in the 50's and 60's. Can these seed trays be set outside on an uncovered deck with a southwestern exposure and maintained until the seedlings are ready to go into the ground or do they need to stay indoors until they have a few sets of true leaves? I also have a covered front porch that faces north east...would it be possible to stage the trays there if it's a bad idea to put them on the southwestern deck? I just figured since it's warm outside that I may be able to keep the trays outside where they would get more light...I don't know the science behind all of this so forgive my ignorance. Thanks! :)
