I am a bit disspaointed with Park seeds. Seems they own everything! They just bought out J & P and I know they already own Wayside. I really had thought it was a little mom and pop type shop when it appears to be a marketing giant.

I would have to say my all time favorite would be Heirloom Roses.
I love all the pictures and it is full of information.

The information in the Vintage Gardens catalog is invaluable. Reading the rose descriptions is so much fun. It's like a reference book that all rose lovers should have.

Vintage's catalog is the first one that popped into my head too. I refer to it all the time. Thank you, Luanne!

I also like The Antique Rose Emporium's "big" catalog (not the small free one, but the big one for $15). I just about wear that one out too.

Vintage for the information included although the photos are beautiful, too.

I like all those that contain whole bush photos or placement/design ideas (Austin and ARE). As to catalogs containing mostly photos, Tantau's is very seductive.

I never understood why Edmunds catalog was praised. I found it haphazard with no index as far as I remember. Wayside and J&P are so strongly "Photoshop-edited" that are totally useless even misleading.

Apparently I need the Vintage catalog. I don't believe I have seen it before. Only viewed their page online.

I love my Heirloom Roses catalog. Even more than David Austin. I often read it in the evenings during the wintertime after crawling into bed and my husband says he finds me sleeping with one hand holding my Heirloom catalog. Like a kid with a favorite storybook. I don't know why, I just don't get tired of looking at rose catalogs even after they are dog eared.

I think I need the Vintage one too! Now I've been enabled for a catalog. Kate, I do the very same thing! I don't ever get tired of looking at them either.

I really like the Heirloom one. Last year at the Heirloom Sale they had a table with many of their older catalogs. Like from 10 years ago when they
carried more OGR's. I grabbed them up! They are great. There are roses in there I have never even heard of!

We are a funny bunch, aren't we? LOL Time to get the Vintage catalog!

Does Vintage send the catalog if you've ordered from them or do you have to request and pay for it?

This is the first year I have received the Heirloom catalog(probably because I ordered from them). I thought it was ok, but to me the colors seem to saturated. Like it was bit off. Maybe it was the way mine was printed.

Buford, the catalog is a request item, I believe. I got mine when it first came out along with an order but was charged for the catalog. Make sense?
Rosefolly and I have noticed since we haven't ordered from Heirloom in a while, we don't get the catalog anymore.

The Heirloom catalog looks expensive to produce. I can see why they would only send to regular customers buying each year. I got Pickering's - it was okay but Austin's is the most beautiful. We pay for that one when we buy roses through their site. Does Vintage have better photos in their catalog than their site? Those pictures are not always the best IMO.

peachiekean, the Vintage catalog excels in its written text ... that is what makes it so valuable to us rose addicts. It's nothing like the glossy photo-filled David Austin catalog.

Austin's is my favorite because of all the gorgeous photos.

Heirloom and Vintage are two of the best, with Heirloom having beautiful pictures of every rose in the catalogue and Vintage having great information on many, many roses. But I'm a pushover for catalogues. I like the Nor'East and Bridges catalogues of minis, even J&P for the fun of reading it. Back when the J&P catalogue was saturated with rose perfume it was almost sinful to read while inhaling that great fragrance.

The only ones I have ever had was David Austin and Pickering.
The other ones want me to send money and I just can't be bothered.

Nicey, which ones you would like to have? I always get several copies of Wayside, J&P and maybe some others.

Vintage catalog costs $15; it was on sale for Christmas but there is no freebee there.

For what it's worth I just received my Vintage Catalog in the mail about an hour ago. After looking through the information and photos briefly I've concluded this is just about the most fun you can have legally for $19.16 (delivered). It's great. Do they make a new one every year?
