your favorite coral, orange, or deep pink roses?
Comments (10)Westerland seems to fit your requirements! It's described as a "shrub/climber" although mine grows as a tall, upright shrub to about 5' (I trim it quite heavily in the spring so it would grow taller if I let it). It stays upright - the canes are not lax at all. The flowers are large, double and bright apricot/orange - very eye-catching. It doesn't seem to be bothered by any disease problems here and blackspot is a big problem here where it's hot and humid. It's listed as being hardy to zone 5. Incredibly, I don't have a picture of it but you can look it up on Helpmefind. I also have Easy Living, which I like very much although mine is a small shrub. Heaven on Earth is a shrub that produces beautiful huge pastel apricot blooms. Perhaps my favorite in an orange/apricot color is Pat Austin, which does very well here....See MoreOrange roses?
Comments (22)Orange is one of those colors people either love or hate. If you are familiar with the artist's color wheel, you know that some colors harmonize with orange, some colors contrast with orange, and some are more or less indifferent to orange. What colors you choose to include with your orange roses is largely a function of your own aesthetic. I can easily imagine a bright orange rose like Tropicana happily growing with marigolds or zinnias, and likewise with flowers such as . I have a bed with Fragrant Cloud & Paul Sherville, with C. persicifolia as well. That blue contrasts very well against the vivid orange/scarlet of Fragrant Cloud, and also against the pale peach/apricot of Paul Shirville. I can also easily imagine the strong contrast of vivid orange working really well against the near-perfect contrast of a dark indigo-purple flower such as sage....See MoreWhat is your favorite rose to show at a rose show?

Comments (34)Bright A$$ orange! Also don't like the orange reds either. Also yellow. Now don't get me wrong. Yellow is my favorite color, however, on roses in my garden, it fades to white in two seconds with the heat I get. Then it blends into the white fencing I have and you can't see the flowers. That being said, I see some awfully pretty yellow roses here on this site. I almost got rid of my Lady of Shalott because she produced exactly two blooms her first year and they were both bright A$$ orange! Moved her into a pot and more in the shade and she was much prettier her second year. Placed her in the ground where she is again pretty much shaded and I love the color that she is. Lots and lots of blooms on her. All beautiful. With Austins you have to give them at least three to five years to come into their own. She is also own root so it takes a bit longer for her....See MoreRelated Professionals
