Hamp, the quality of these photos is amazing. Lucky us that you share them. I hope the weather service is wrong about that freeze, you'd think it'd be too late in the season for us in 8a to be talking freeze. The temp in Dallas on Tuesday night is predicted to be 34F, and I am on the northern fringes of the Metroplex, so we are under a "freeze watch". Hopefully both of us will escape unscathed. The only thing I'm really concerned about is the fantastic looking mandevilla I stupidly planted a few weeks ago. I covered it up tonight, and will do the same tomorrow night.

Now back to your roses. That CC of yours is perfect. And how big is your 'Perle de Or'? That's good stuff.

Thank you Randy. I'm not really that concerned about the temps really causing any long lasting damage. I did plant several diamond frost euphorbias last week and they're gonna get covered tonight. My Perle d'Or is a mature specimen. I try to keep it at 6'x6'. Its growth habit kinda "V" shaped and is real dense and upright.

Organic, thanks. These pics were taken with an Olympus E330 DSLR. Most will tell you that the camera doesn't matter as much as taking lots and lots of pictures so maybe a few will turn out decent.

Thanks Krista. The byzantine glads come back year after year. I have two different kinds, similar but different. The forecast is for temps only around freezing for a brief period tomorrow morning so there'll be no long lasting effects.

Hamp, you post the most beautiful pictures. CF is gorgeous, and I am not a gladiolus fan, but that is beautiful. Your picture makes me want to go out into the dark and ask those PdO's how much longer I'm going to have to wait! I love that rose. Clemmie is beautiful, too.

Is bush honeysuckle a synonym for deciduous azaleas, or just of that one type? It's a beautiful color, and it does look like a honeysuckle blossom. Is it fragrant?

Everything looks so beautiful. I hope you don't have a set back. We had a strange heavey frost at the beginning of May last year. It did ruin alot of buds.

Thank you Gean, these glads aren't the typical glads. They're sometimes called perennial glads here and are pass along plants. Deciduous Azaleas are sometimes called bush honeysuckles in the south but aren't a honeysuckle at all. I think it's because the blooms look similar and they are both fragrant.

I told you Clemmie was a monster. It always surprises me when someone describes her as a "small" Tea. She is still one of my favorites. I brought home an Azalea from the nursery yesterday. Actually two, a yellow and an orange. I have no idea where I am going to put them :-). They smell soooooo good. My Byzantine glads are up but not blooming yet. You are going to love Rainbow.

Carol, Clemmie is my favorite too. You're gonna love the azaleas! My byzantine glads are about finished. I see those things everywhere here. Some are growing in the middle of a lawn and have been there for years. They come up in late winter, bloom and then go dormant until next year with the grass growing over them all summer.

I so need a Rainbow!!
