For years I didn't care for potato chips or French fries though I liked potatoes prepared other ways, but the past few years there are times I crave them now. It's a combination of the oil/grease & salt. Rather than a certain food, I find that I now like specific dishes a lot more than I used to: stews, pot roast, sauerkraut, sausage, biscuits & gravy (notice the interest in heavy fat foods?) A kind of sad thing, I LOVED chocolate to the point of once buying & eating a whole BOX of Hershey's bars, & going to chocolate conventions for a few years. Now I've lost my taste for chocolate; I don't hate it, but I don't care if I have it or not, & when I do have a piece, it doesn't taste all that great. Calories I don't have to worry about, I suppose. It's also given me empathy for older people who have lost their taste for food.

Ladynimu, we are at the tail end of our process (closing on our purchase next Thursday!) and also had a whirlwind period of looking every night. We were buying locally, though, so one night we'd do our drive-bys and the next we'd have showings scheduled to look inside the ones that interested us. A few we did not make offers on: The one with the "fun house" door frames... obvious cosmetic fixing could not disguise the fact that the door frames were crooked - closer to the ceiling on one end than the other! ANY of the ones where the neighboring homes were less than 20 feet from the structure we were looking at. We own motorcycles, and try to be good neighbors with regard to the noise generated by warming up the bikes. The lovely family home with the 18-inch-wide hallway that led to the basement door, and the disturbingly tiny winding staircase that led to a finished attic space (no kidding - four-inch deep step, four-inch riser... for CHILDREN ONLY? (Too bad, too - we both LOVED the location of this one.) The one with the weird labyrinth of rooms that was a foreclosure and had been vacant for three years. Generally, everything we looked at was tidy and presented as best it could be, with only a couple exceptions. The home we purchased has been a rental for a few years so it needs some TLC but we are happy to do that work and it will be a great home for us. ladoladi- If you have the normal skin that is not very thick, you can't screw them from the inside. There is not enough in the first 1/4" or so of a screw's length to hold something like this, and you always risk going through the face. I wouldn't use Liquid Nails because it has a thickness to it which could cause gapping and it may not hold that well in this situation. If it were me, I'd spread a uniform coat of wood glue on both the cabinet surface and the back of the skin with a brush or a sheetrocking knife, and then use a brad nailer (i.e., compressor powered) to nail it around the perimeter; then fill the small nail holes with a matching putty stick. Alternatively, since you don't sound very experienced with stuff like this, you could get a handyman to do this. It would be a shame to do this poorly and have it detract from the appearance of the cabinet installation.

well, clearly people feel very free to be critical and hurtful to make themselves feel superior. Having gotten that off my chest--I would put 3 good sized, rustic wood, staggered height candle holders (Pottery Barn or Pier one) on the right side of the TV console and maybe a pretty simple live plant on the left--ivy or something not too tall- nothing under the TV. I would keep accessories to a minimum--use a few properly scaled things - they make a better statement. Too many small things seem busy.
