We didn't have accommodations like this when I was in college!
Comments (30)newdawn1895 - Not only in the downtown areas, but the art district and the Riverview districts are all undergoing fabulous transformations. Chattanooga is such a neat town. I wish I had taken a photograph of my sons street. The avenue was absolutely beautiful! Most of the houses and yards were well kept, and the flowering trees were gorgeous hanging over the street. :) golddust - First of all, I wanted to tell you how much I love your dog. What a cutie! Secondly...what a tub! I love large old tubs like the claw-foot that my son has. I asked the guys if either had taken a bath and they answered "no" because they were using the tub as a storage place for their bathroom supplies. Now that we have provided a space saver tower over the toilet, the tub is now free for bathing. LOL You are so lucky to have many of the original features, like the built-ins. Your kitchen appliances are tops! I would love to know the date that my son's place was built, and also the history. Guess I'll have to ask the owners....See MoreWe made an offer! - And a list of those we didn't buy ;)
Comments (21)Ladynimu, we are at the tail end of our process (closing on our purchase next Thursday!) and also had a whirlwind period of looking every night. We were buying locally, though, so one night we'd do our drive-bys and the next we'd have showings scheduled to look inside the ones that interested us. A few we did not make offers on: The one with the "fun house" door frames... obvious cosmetic fixing could not disguise the fact that the door frames were crooked - closer to the ceiling on one end than the other! ANY of the ones where the neighboring homes were less than 20 feet from the structure we were looking at. We own motorcycles, and try to be good neighbors with regard to the noise generated by warming up the bikes. The lovely family home with the 18-inch-wide hallway that led to the basement door, and the disturbingly tiny winding staircase that led to a finished attic space (no kidding - four-inch deep step, four-inch riser... for CHILDREN ONLY? (Too bad, too - we both LOVED the location of this one.) The one with the weird labyrinth of rooms that was a foreclosure and had been vacant for three years. Generally, everything we looked at was tidy and presented as best it could be, with only a couple exceptions. The home we purchased has been a rental for a few years so it needs some TLC but we are happy to do that work and it will be a great home for us. Glad you found something, hope your favorite comes through! Janet...See Morechanges I've made, lots of pictures
Comments (26)I could not live with the plant on the floor. After half an hour, I had it back up on the stand. I may look for a stand at half the height when I am able to get out. Now I have to deal with the mess I made in my summer kitchen. I have another cabinet in my sewing room that I can display the owl clock on, most of the other stuff I will just pack away. My next project is my dining room. It is very small and is open to my kitchen. My sons are coming over soon, I hope, to move my china cabinet out of my entry way into to my dining room. I hope I don't have to set on my hands too long. haha I want to thank every one for your help. It has really made my living room so much prettier. I remember one time, Mom asked my sisters and I to come up and restage her living room. You should have heard the discussions we had as we all had different ideas. We did finally manage to declutter her room and it was looking pretty good. I think by the time we got back home, she had everything changed back to the way it was before. I made up my mind if I asked for help, I was going to try the different suggestions. I am so glad that I did. I just love the way it has turned out. I guess I really did not believe that I could get away with not using everything that my kids and stepchildren gave to me over the years. Thanks you again. dody...See MoreI've really missed it here and I didn't realize it.
Comments (60)Welcome back! I do remember you and your house and I'm so sorry for the health woes. You have a great attitude though. My college friend in her late 30's have been battling this too and she was stage 3 as well. She's now in remission, but still recovering from her treatments. I think your attitude is going to help you a lot too in this battle. I've been here on and off since the late 90's. Depends on how busy life is and also if I need to escape. I'm not a big poster though. I mostly read unless I feel like I have something to add that hasn't already been said or I'm one of the earlier posters. I think the last of your posts I remember is from your bathroom remodel. I still wonder what you ended up doing there. Maybe you posted it and it was during the time I wasn't around....See MoreJudyG Designs
