KD didn't order flush ends; says we can add skins AFTER install?

Hi all...

Like many of you, our wall cab over the sink is higher. So the wall cabs on either side should have a flush finished end where it is exposed.

The KD ordered a flush end for the left cab, but not the one on the right. The bad thing is this cabinet was supposed to be flush on both sides. (He ordered WWEB, but we had plywood upgrade, so nothing was changed.)

He has ordered us panel skins as a fix. Rather than hold up installation, he says we can add the panel skins AFTER installation.

But how can you smooth out the adhesive if most of the cabinet is already attached? Do you just cut the skin slightly higher than the exposed part?

I just don't want this to be cheesy or worse, warp/curl later. Should we wait and apply the skin to the entire side? Thanks in advance.
