Guess we haven't kept up with prices.

We wanted to try something we keep hearing about, dropping a Mento candy into a bottle of diet Coke.

Leone and I never drink sweetened carbonated drinks, I think the last Coke I had was on a troop train in 1945. We encouraged our kids never to drink them and I don't think our grand kids or great grand kids use them.

Anyway I went to soda pop dispenser with the idea of buying a diet Coke. I was stunned, a dollar a bottle. The last time I bought a Coke it was a nickle. Really hadn't thought about the price since we aren't interested but a dollar. Guess I thought perhaps they had gone up but maybe I figured a quarter or something.

Now that I think about it everyone at the check stand in the grocery store seems to have carbonated drinks in their shopping cart and whole aisles in the store seem to have nothing but these drinks but a dollar a bottle.

They just can't be healthy for your body and certainly your teeth and I guess your pocketbook.
