UMAXX anyone? Application rate help needed....

I'm making something simple quite difficult....I think.

OK, I went to a local store (ATECH Products) yesterday to buy my summer's worth of urea fertilizer for my Tifway 419. The guy there talked me into buying a bag of UMAXX (by Agrotain) instead of the normal stuff I get. What he said sounded good so I figured whet the hell. The bag has no spreader settings so I'm kinda lost on how much to apply.

Here's what I know. 1lb of N/1000 sq ft is a standard rate to use. Dividing 100 by the 1st number on the bag (47-0-0) gives me 100/47 = 2.13. That meanns I need 2.13 lbs of UMAXX per 1000 sq ft. So, for my 4000 sq ft yard I need roughly 8.5 lbs of fertilizer. Right?

So, if I put my spreader on the lowest setting and put 8.5 lbs of UMAXX in the bin I should just walk the yard until it is gone. Right?

Here is a link that might be useful: UMAXX homepage
