Hmmmm...Rhonda....it's strange that the Print Preview looked ok, but printed wrong? It looks like you did the (pink check) border, then super-imposed the corners (yellow squares)over it, right? First, try "layering" the images to see if that helps. In my program (at the top) it says Arrange...then Layer. Send the pink border "TO the Back" See if that helps. Another thing that you may try....is after you've got the yellow corners, where you want, over the pink border...try to "Group" them to become one image. This is also done under "Arrange". Where to find this Layering and Grouping may be a little different in your program, but I'm pretty sure they're there. Hope it helps and let us know how it goes :-) Tiger

Do you pay the premiums or does your hubby's retirement plan do so. I think the only way you can get the insurance is join, and I am surprised that a retirement plan would be able to offer such a plan. Please at least check you a local independant agent and/or like one poster said, with Social Security. You have some good suggestion here to help you out. As far as I know AARP does not offer insurance plans, but do offer supplements only, as Medicare, if you have it, is your primary provider. Is your husband's retirement a big company--small etc and what else do they provide (insist) the retires do. We are with Los Angeles County and we can choose anyone we want as our supplements. Please feel free to ask questions as we do have a lot of very knowlegable people here.

Try running either chkdsk C: /f -or- sfc.exe /scannow as Administrator from Command Prompt. If there's a file problem...either of these tasks should clear it up. Either one of these will take a little time so run whichever one you chose at a time when you won't need your computer for a while.

There may, or may not, be a way to get a traditional stairway in there. Certainly it will require floorplans and some volunteer work to figure that out. We are missing a lot of information. My own opinion is that the loft space that I can see in the photo doesn't justify sacrificing a large amount of premium main floor space for a traditional staircase. We are seeing the kitchen and main living area, I assume there's a bathroom and bedroom on the main floor. It would be ridiculous to take up that much main living area floor space for a traditional stair that you would find in a 3.000 sq ft suburban home. That said, ladders, trap doors, climbing ropes, ball pits, jet packs, levitating carpets, etc. that don't meet code are not reasonable compared to a spiral staircase that provides code compliant stairs that are usable for an older person - yet very compact. Regardless of the current owner's intended use, if the property is ever sold, it greatly detracts from the value of the property if that space isn't totally legit. Again, we are talking about an older gent. First floor space is at a premium. The loft clearly needs to be useable, but is probably a secondary space. It's near completion, we don't have the option of a dramatic re-design at this stage of the game - so comments along the line of, "It's all wrong" aren't helpful. I'm not sure what prompts comments such as "... but spiral would be the worst possible thing to have" and "Spiral staircases are the work of Satan." - but they are not rational comments and are prompted by something other than the needs of the Original Poster and the given facts - I'm guessing a traumatic childhood experience, a serious bump on he head, or premature potty-training.
