still need help with - printing application error.....

Hi - I have a lexmark x5435 printer /scanner/fax and productivity studio , that does everything.

I can make cards , edit , load my pictures, make name tags and lots of stuff. Until, I get the little window that says - printing application has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I click it off and it just keeps coming back.

This has just started happening.

Now, I can't load my pics from my digital camera or my card either. I can't even get the lexmark productivity to open.

Is there anyone, that can make a suggestion on how to fix this. I do not have any other problems, just this one.

We took lexmark off and put it back on, also got the new driver, ran spyware and all , but we still have the same problem. Now it says the problem is lxdvamon.exe.....

What can we do ?

I have uninstalled all Lexmark drivers, cleaned the registry by removing anything referring to Lexmark, and reinstalled the printer software again with same result.

That's From another forum seems your not the only one with the problem.

What I would try is uninstall the lexmark software, and then only install the driver, from the lexmark site don't use the software from disk

Are you using the printer to download the photos? You could buy a card reader, these are not that expensive

TRICIAAAAAA!!! Why take it out on Calvin? He was trying to HELP YOU. If what he suggested doesn't work for you, it isn't his fault. (It works for me, but funny thing is (odd, not funny) that it leaves out cj's post--how strange is that?!) I do what CJW suggested, and it works fine. Just highlight the information you need and Copy; then Paste into an email or notepad or some other printable writing program; edit out anything you don't want; Save; and Print--in other words, WhatSheSaid. Snidely, thanks for your help. Thank you for the nice photo of the view of the little arrow you were speaking of. Normally, the files have a blue icon with a crown in it signifying it is a Print Master file. This makes it easy for me at a glance. I am using an older version, one that I had on XP. Perhaps Windows 7 does not have what ever driver it takes for a .sig file. Guess it is just one more thing I have to learn to get used to. The icon for the software on my desktop is correct and I do have all my files in the software that I have created and show up when I need them. I don't understand why there are so many hidden files, or I used have not learned how to find all the file folders. An example would be trying to locate the fonts file folder to add more of my favorite fonts. Each time I go to add more fonts I have to do a search for fonts then, that file opens up. It could be I just don't know how to find all these files. I thought going with Windows 7 would have been easier than learning windows 8, maybe I was wrong. That's an error message that is being displayed by a web application server. It's telling you that there's a problem with the application that is running on the server. You can't do anything about it. The programmer(s) who create and maintain the site will need to fix it. Try to find a "contact us" link on the site, describe what you did to generate the error and paste the error text.

I have two Calypsos, both bought used. Per the serial numbers, one was built in early 2001, the other in late 2001. The late-2001 machine needed a lot of refurbishing, it had been, uhhh ... not used very intelligently by the previous owner ... and the u-joint seal had failed as well. The pump is still original, however. After clean-up and repair, it's working perfectly and I use it on a regular basis. The early-2001 machine needed the motor controller board replaced (I found a used board). The pump and u-joint are still original. It needs some cosmetic refurbishing, but otherwise runs OK. I imagine Whirlpool redesigned the pump in response to complaints from irate customers with stripped pumps due to jams from foreign debris like the above-mentioned incident, and also brassiere underwires, shoe laces, tie straps, and the like. The typical consumer doesn't understand appliance engineering. Another example of this is the drive coupler on Whirlpool's direct-drive toploaders. The coupler is equivalent to a belt. In all the years during which Whirlpool's belt-drive toploaders were sold (including the MILLIONS of machines sold under the Kenmore brand), it was no big deal when someone's washer belt broke. An inconvenience, yes .. but hey, that happens, no big deal. Now when a direct-drive coupler breaks, the reaction is -- oh man, those machines are junk, throw it away. Silly consumers.

Here's some info from Answers That Work about the Lexmark program lxdvamon.exe: "Lexmark 5400 Series Device Monitor. System Tray icon for the Lexmark 5400 Series printers. Through that icon you can access from your PC all the functions available on the control pad of your Lexmark 5400 series printer (when available). You can also view the status of ink cartridges, change some defaults, configure the wireless capabilities of the printer, etc...
Recommendation : Down to end-user preference. This program is not strictly necessary for the proper operation of your Lexmark 5400 as you can use most of the above features via the printerÃ¢ÂÂs control panel. However, this program can prove useful when configuring/troubleshooting the wireless features of the printer. Should you decide to disable this task on the Startups tab, you can start it at any time via Ã¢ÂÂStart \ Programs \ Lexmark 5400Ã¢ÂÂ."
