And worst of all the sod will be probably half dead in July-August.(sigh)

Yep, I took a picture just few minutes ago. No one lives there yet. The builder calls it Designer House. See picture below. Look how bad it is.

So for people who loves watering daily :) you're drowning your lawn. But guys please correct me if my advice is incorrect. I water seldom like once a week but very deep. And if my lawn doesn't need water yet, I don't water.

Too much water usually means lawn fungus and/or lawn disease are in the near future. If this house had some shade...it might happen faster as the turf would be slow to dry out. Then again, I could be overly pessimistic about this lawn.

The sodfarm I bought from recommends watering new sod until the water is running down the street. I take this to mean they want it soaked but not 24/7 for 2 weeks. That was overkill. A good soaking every other day for the first week or two should give the sod a good start. Slowly convert to a good once a week deep watering.

Yes, overwatering is probably worse than underwatering on average.

A couple of years ago my sprinkler controller went bad and was watering my yard every night. I got a terrible case of fungus before I noticed what was going on.

Yeah and when they sod over again they will probably water continuously for 28 days this time thinking the last time they didn't water enough.

Builders down here got it good with this bermuda sod they just set it and forget it. If some of it dies nobody knows the difference anyway.

Here is an update just after 3 days from the last pic I posted above. The grass I guess is dead now. :(

Jeesh. Looks like the same builder built the surrounding houses. No? That grass is alive and looks to be doing OK. Did the homeowners have to resod/seed those yards?

No one owns the place yet. Like what I said above, maybe papers are in the works for the new future homeowner.

This morning before I left the house, it was being watered. Then I came home 7pm, the sprinkler was still running. So looks like they thought that they didn't water enough! ROFLMAOWTIME HAHAHA

I was talking about the other houses. Did the builder (same one I assume) water those yards the same way he is watering the subject yard? Did he/she have to replace the sod for the other houses?

Nope, it was different lately. When the earlier homeowners(like me) moved to the house, we didn't have any sod. We got sodded after 1 month and once you moved in. That means, it was us who watered the lawn. It wasn't the builder.

Lately, I have seen newer houses that are still owned by the builder gets sodded. Maybe, to look it more nicer since desperate to sell houses. I heard lately that the builder isn't getting any deals. So, since no really owns the house that they sell yet, no one cares to turn off the faucet.

Another builder's house in front of my house was being watered for 3 days continiously. Some grass died too but luckily, a police saw it. Few minutes later, I saw the builder turn off the faucet. LOL! It's actually looking good.
