I get the same crap when i go to Lesco/John Deere. They ALWAYS try to get me to do something other than what I intended to do. Now when they ask what I'm trying to do I tell them, I'm trying to purchase product xxx, do you have it or not?

Nice yard by the way... I'd love to lay in it on a sunny day and pull those pesky weeds :)

Creeping bent seeds are the size of dust. A little dust (other crop) goes a LONG way in someone's back yard.

SO...IF I am looking for that "thin deep green grass" that will survive in our Seattle Weather (Sun and Shade and a "bit of rain") can anyone reccomend a good quality seed and a source for this quality seed...Obviously the seed that I have been purchasing at Sky Nursery here in Seatle is not so good.

The seed you can get at most nurseries, and even at Wal-Mart, works great for those whom the lawn is not their pride and joy. Do a search on "lawncare showcase" and you'll see some lawns that will knock your socks off. That one website has a slideshow that changes every few seconds. Just wait for it.

If your lawn is your hobby, then you need to spend a little more money up front to make it really nice down the road. In the end you'll end up paying more for the weed control than you would have for the high quality seed. You will kick yourself for the extra hassle you caused, too. As Gary said, the really aggressive weed seeds are the size and weight of dust. When you get a few of those in your mix, you will eventually have that grass for your lawn. I did not see any bent in your lawn, so you may have gotten away with it. However, you do have some coarse bladed grass in the mix, so you have your chores cut out for you.

One other point is that if the grass you want to get rid of is already growing, a pre emergent won't help get rid of it. It will stop any new seeds from germinating, but you'll need to spot spray the grass that's already there.

KBG tends not to do well in Seattle because of the amount of moister, which is why you've got very little of it and a lot of rye and fine fescue (chewing and creeping red). The only one of those that will spread is the creeping red fescue and it will spread slowly, so you'll probably need to seed in the areas where you spray. Fortunately, rye germinates very fast and fescue germinates relatively fast, so the spots won't stay bare for long.
