Halloween is coming, what are your ghouls and goblins dressing as
Comments (16)DH likes to dress up for Beggars Night. Last year he was Tom Brady - Brady jersey, Patriots sweatpants, and one of those gisnt knee braces. No one seemed to "get it". This year he's going to be a Viking - kilt, medieval-looking shirt, plastic Viking helmet with horns and blond braids, plastic sword. I'm going to wear my black woolen cloak over regular black clothes and my "Sabbat-go-to-meeting" hat that someone made for me - it's your standard pointy witch's hat festooned with fake flowers, lace, trailing bits of organza. It's amusing, to say the least. No Samhain party this year: I put my foot down and said that if the rest of the circle wants gatherings they can get off their @$$es and organize one, but I'm tired of chasing people and nagging them about whether they're coming, what they're bringing for potluck (so we don't have eight bags of chips and no actual food)....See MoreSo now...Halloween Costumes
Comments (14)several years back friends had a halloween party every year that was top of the line. everyone came dressed to the hilt and the prizes were just excellent - not to mention the food and atmosphere. they went all out - moved furniture out of the house, turned it into a total thrill house. i miss those parties, but most of all i miss my friend. every year everybody tried to top their costume from the year before. a few times i won a certain category, but my best costume was a decomposing bride, which one me three prizes that year. i got an old wedding dress (it so ugly to begin with) from a thrift store and kind of made it worse with more ri[ps and tears and what not, stained it a little to make it faded and older looking. my make-up was amazing - total death face - my arms and hands all veiny and just gross. my hair was a tangled mess and teased in places with a few fake bugs thrown in and the veil, which was really just an odd piece of tulle with one of those kiddie tiaras, was in sad shape. i wore these funky shoes which were at one time white, but i muddied them, and then tied to the back of one of them, i dragged another one which made it look like my foot was dragging, and limped around throughtout the night. i carried a bride's purse stuffed with old cards - the envelopes that were yellowed and (fake) torn money. even my wrist corsage was pathetic. maryanne...See MoreHappy Halloween!
Comments (1)Those shoes! Your costumes are great!...See MoreI don't know why this mask made me uneasy
Comments (16)Were I to ride a motorcycle ... I'd want to have not only my head, but my face protected, as well. And were I to add some kind of peculiar-looking face, I'd feel that to be just an expression of my inner self (or something). If it's a horrible looking face - that should bother you? Why? You paint your face, if you so choose, in whatever fashion pleases you, don't you? There's a difference? Oh - my painting is once removed from my face, so to speak. (And doesn't need to be renewed, every day: being rather lazy, I like that better, I think). o j...See MoreMertie
