So now...Halloween Costumes

Okay, so the Halloween thread got me thinking. And to keep this food related, I once dressed up as a table. Cut a piece of heavy cardboard about 24" square, glued a tablecloth on it, glued two place settings (plastic) on it, and cut a hole in the middle. put a wreath of flowers on my head and VIOLA (for you, Linda C) I was the centerpiece!

Other favorite costumes: I was once a fly. Wore black leotards and a black sweater, made wings of saran wrap and clothes hangers, and my "eyes" and feelers were a couple of kitchen strainers wired together.

"Gumby Dammit" (anyone remember the Eddy Murphy sketch from SNL?) was another favorite. Wore green sweats and for the head I covered a potato chip box in green felt, cut the top at an angle and a cutout for my green painted face.

And a red M&M. Made the costume from red felt stuffed with batting, sewed tabs so it fit over my shoulders and wore white turtleneck and leotards underneath.

A friend of mine once went as a bag of jelly beans. She wore leotards, and got a huge clear plastic trash bag, cut leg and arm holes and filled it with colored balloons! It was adorable!

SO....tell me about some of your most creative costumes!
