Too cute - love it - Ghoul Scout!

Our boys (6 & 3) are going as giant lego toys. I cut out arm and head holes in a box for each boy.

DH picked up some WaWa hot side cartons (WaWa is a local convenience chain). They're round and I will glue 6 on one box and 4 on the other box and spray paint the whole thing in a color of their choosing.

Hehe love these ideas. My little guy will be just shy of 17 months and will be going as a skeleton, because the costume looked warm and comfortable and not too bulky because he is ON THE MOVE and would be frustrated by something bulky. It's basically a black fleece bodysuit with felt bones sewn on (last year's pottery barn kids that i got back in september for a fraction of the original price on ebay). There is no way he will let me paint his face or wear a mask so he will be carrying a skull treat bag for his head.

So I'm boring, but he will look very cute :)

My 8 month old will be a pumpkin. DH is a spoiler and wouldn't let me get anything as he never liked Halloween and doesn't want to put her in anything she hasn't said she wants to wear. A friend took pity and gave me one they used so that is what she'll wear and because it was given to me I can tell him she has to wear it at least for a picture.

It is not very obvious pumpkin like in that it is more like a regular footed sleeper with a green collar and a separate hat - great as she's crawling as there is nothing to keep her from moving.

Great ideas. I LOVE Halloween costumes that are home made. They're so clever. My DS and his girlfriend are throwing a costume party at their place and my son is dressing up as Edward from Twilight. All the girls (and most of the guys) agree that he looks like that guy, so he's going to put on pale makeup and glitter, slick back his hair and be Edward.

My 32 year old loves Halloween. He and his GF will be in NYC for the parade. They are staying w/ my DB in Manhattan. They are going as King Kong and Faye Raye and will try to get the officers in charge to let them have their pic made on ....you know...ESB. They are really excited so hope it works. With all the "terrorist" plots it is hard to know what will be allowed.

I no longer participate since homemade cookies and hot apple cider would be suspect . c

My cousin was going to have a party but then decided against it. But before she cancelled I was trying to decide exactly what I would be. It was going to be at her plantation house in Selma, Alabama.

At her other parties I dressd up as a boy for some reason. I went as a Rabbi, an Italian gangster, a scarecrow. And I thought people might start to talk. (lol) So I wanted to go as a saloon girl, an old one. (lol) But my niece went as Michael Jackson and I do have the wig and the hat at my house I think I would go as him if she was still going to have it. But she's not going to have the party and Michael Jackson is getting on my nerves even now. Bet there will be tons of Michael Jackson's out there this Halloween.

My 9-year old son is all into scary and/or grisly costumes, so he's going as Jason Voorhees.

There are always a host of Halloween costume parties where I live, so DH and I dress up most years. This year, I'm going as a geisha. DH still hasn't chosen his costume. He'll do his usual thing: wait until the day before and run to the costume store to pick up whatever they have left. He did that last year and ended up going as the old, fat, Elvis complete with white bell-bottoms, too much gold jewelery and a cape. He's hopeless.

My 6 year old DS is going as a vampire. We tried to get him to go as a Nerd, which I think all the kids and parents would think is so funny, because he is so totally opposite of a Nerd. But, he wouldn't. We tell him, he could be working for one of those Nerds someday! LOL!

I loved reading this post, lots of creative and fun ideas here! I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween and for those of you bringing little, little ones out, I hope they have a fantastic time. I have a lot of fond memories TOT with my girls at that age. Now, I love to watch the little ones all dressed up when I'm handing out candy, such fun. :)

I think this will probably be the last year my kids will TOT. We've talked about next year either doing a party in the cottage for them, or they'll dress up to hand out the candy. My oldest suggested they could be Enyo, Deino and Pemphredo .. how we get them to share the eye and tooth, who knows. I suggested the three witches from Macbeth might be easier .. huddled around a cauldron.

I WISH my sons would let me make their costumes! They're four and three now and have *definite* opinions. I made DS1's costume for his first Halloween and loved it...

This year they're going as Batman and Superman. This is the THIRD year one of them has been Batman! Oh well, it makes them happy.

My husband and the rest of the firefighters are having a costume party at the Firemens Club for the first time this year. In the 15 years I have known him, I have NEVER seen my husband dress up for Halloween. But, he's actually getting into the whole costume planning process and is going to go as one of the Hanson brothers from Slapshot:

I can't wait to see him with his goofy wig on! Meanwhile, I have exactly 8 days to come up with a costume.

DH likes to dress up for Beggars Night. Last year he was Tom Brady - Brady jersey, Patriots sweatpants, and one of those gisnt knee braces. No one seemed to "get it". This year he's going to be a Viking - kilt, medieval-looking shirt, plastic Viking helmet with horns and blond braids, plastic sword. I'm going to wear my black woolen cloak over regular black clothes and my "Sabbat-go-to-meeting" hat that someone made for me - it's your standard pointy witch's hat festooned with fake flowers, lace, trailing bits of organza. It's amusing, to say the least.

No Samhain party this year: I put my foot down and said that if the rest of the circle wants gatherings they can get off their @$$es and organize one, but I'm tired of chasing people and nagging them about whether they're coming, what they're bringing for potluck (so we don't have eight bags of chips and no actual food).

DS still wants to go TOT and wants to dress as Harry Potter if the costume from 2 (or was it 3?) years ago still fits. Of course, he has changed his glasses so doesn't look as much like Harry (though he still looks like Daniel Radcliffe).

DD will be a princess or a fairy, she just has to decide which of her dress-up costumes she wants to wear (and I have to see what's warm enough, not tripping hazard). That is if she can go - she was complaining of headache last night, a dry cough this AM (I thought it was b/c house was drying out - down to 53% RH). But she came back from school with headache and fever of 100.1 - seemed fine after 2 ibuprofen but I'm keeping her home tomorrow. We should figure out by Monday if this is a cold or the flu. Hope she can go to Halloween party on Friday (and I'm supposed to help!) and TOT on Saturday.

The ghoul scout is too funny. DH are dressing as Grim Reaper Zombie and Scary Fairy for a local party. DS is 32 and says it's too much trouble to dress up (he didn't get that from me). This our first costume party in a few years and I can't wait. When we lived in LA we went to Mardi Gras costume parties, but it will be fun to do something spooky. The party starts late so we can still entertain all our precious TOTers before hand.

Oooh, so many creative ideas here! Uptil now, I picked out costumes for DS. But at three, he is making up his own mind and changing it every day! As of now, he is trying to choose between Bob the builder or a fireman. hey! at least the hardhats are kind of similar :-)

My little boy (4 years old) is going to be a veterinarian. We saw the costume (it's from the Melissa & Doug co.) at a toy store and he couldn't stop talking about it. He has been telling people he's going to be an animal doctor when he grows up for a long time now. The costume has a scrub hat and mask, a doctor's coat, and a stethoscope and pretend syringe. He's going to take some of his stuffed animals too :) Ahh, so cute!

My 9 yo boy wants to dress up as a gangster wearing Obama mask. He would be carrying a loot bag w/ money print on it. When I point out that he won't be getting much candy from the Democrats he informed me there were more McCain than Obama's signs in the neighborhood during the last election so he'll be safe.

I thought it's funny (don't know how he came up w/ that idea--every year it's been a ghoul or zombie or something scary) but my DH gave us "the eye" and think we are being disrespectful of the president :-D
