Money Tree/Pachira Pests? Or just unhappy again?

Hi,

Last year I inherited a money tree--a very tall, spindly, unbraided money tree. We've been through good times and bad; it's lost many branches due to a particularly flimsy pot (now fixed), but it's also thrived outside in the summer. I know that this plant cycles through the depths of depression and the dizzying heights of contentment, but since taking it in from my balcony, the leaves have been curling up and spotting. Normally I wouldn't concern myself about this, but the plant has finally started growing a new shoot at the bottom, and I'm eager to nurse this little branch into existence. I'm concerned, however, that this time around, the leaves might be the victims of pests. On the underside of the old leaves, there are teensy tiny black specks and sometimes something that looks a bit like a web. I can't tell whether these are, in fact, pests, or whether it's just dirt! If you can identify what's on my plant and perhaps suggest a solution, I'd really appreciate it!
