Zinnias- Compare & Contrast thread

Hello all-

I'm planning my beds for next year, and am planning HUGE masses of Zinnias of many types.

I am in Z5 with excellent soil conditions- mostly full sun with a couple dappled shade areas.

What I want:

A great 3-4 foot variety (likely will use in 'mixed' form as well as color-blocks.) I like large bloom, and bright color...not too interested in the striped varieties such as Peppermint Stick and Candy Canes. Didn't know if some were more susceptible to disease, etc.

And a discussion on your thoughts on the Magellan Series as compared to the Dreamlands. I grew dreamlands this year and am VERY happy with the results (red). Will use them again next year, but wanted to know if I should try the Magellans, as it seems to be the 'hot topic' in zinnias these days.

Also, I will be using a mid-height variety- something about 18" high (I'm currently liking the Starlight mix...I think these were cheapies from WM).

I am so impressed with Zinnias this year it's ridiculous! I want them everywhere, lining every bed I have!
