Yes Ines, I was planning on doing that, but I'm rooting a bunch of hoya cuttings now that I received from some generous people, and want to see which medium works best for me before I cut any of my plants. I also just received a similar sized cutting of Heuschkeliana, so I might just cut that one too and then have 4 cuttings in the pot....that will look really nice! The only problem I foresee is that the plastic cup is already completely filled with roots from the one in there, so I'd have to get a longer cup or something to accomodate more cuttings/roots. Notanatural, make sure you update us on how the fishbowl thing works for you if you try it. Good luck with it :-)

Hiya Gang, Kelly, waving attcha. I grow in lots of different fashions. I'm very curious & experimental & have only western light w/ which to work. This is the first Hoya I've allowed on this windowsill -- it's otherwise occupied by 5-7 Aloes who called dibs on the west window real estate a long time ago. When the mother plant crashed & broke (in another room which window is already full of Hoyas), I just improvised this particular setup, for lack of another solution. I knew this Hoya loves growing in water, & happened to have the net pots. Am lucky I've got 3 different sizes. Can't remember where I bought them. It was a temporary solution which worked well enough that I adopted it permanently. Pls. refer to the other thread 'Questons about Hydroton' at the end of which, where I refer Miztico to a particular search for pix of my first big, 'officially' Hydro growing Hoya purchase. It clearly shows the Leca stones & am impressive (to me anyway) H kerrii w/ white edge variegation.

Well, there is no way I would post a picture of my kids' bathroom on the internet, LOL!, but we went with monkeys (it seemed appropriate). I found very cute monkey bath mat, hand towels, soap dispenser, and waste basket at Linens N Things. They also had a cute shower curtain, but we didn't need it. Each kid has their own stepstool in front of their sinks -- you can get them with storage inside or without, and can either paint their names on or have their names painted. They each have their own towels and toothbrush holders to their liking. For non-guest bathrooms, I like to keep the color white/creamy white because it provides better light for getting ready. This keeps the room pretty neutral. We haven't remodeled the bathroom yet, but the POs used a pretty neutral creamy faux marble countertop and off-white tiles on the floor and in the tub, so there's nothing that screams GIRL or BOY. Eventually, we'll put in some nicer fixtures and surfaces, but I'm still going to keep the colors very much white, cream or tan. In our last house, we went with a fairly adult looking hall bathroom and hid the kids' bath toys behind the curtain.

Light grays really work well. I used this in our last house when my 2 boys shared a room. They were 6 and 4 at the time. It was an east facing room so it got tons of morning light. It's so neutral you can basically use any colors in there, although I preferred to use navy, red and kelly greens as the main accent colors. Mostly because I had space themed quilts with these colors. I don't have a color name, I mixed my own gray. I'd had a very dark gray oops paint I picked up for $5 and mixed it with white until I got a shade I could live with. Like you, the room was previously occuppied by a girl. It was a nursery and it was painted Winnie the Pooh Honey Pot Yellow. I don't know your space, but Austere and Escape read very green to me. Is that the undertone you're looking for? Personally, I tend to go for the lighter, warmer grays or barely there. I really like Agreeable Gray SW 7029. A new color for 2011 (I think) that's not in my deck is SW 0055 Light French Gray, it looks pretty online, not so sure about in person. Maybe take a look at Restoration Hardware's Pale Silver. Some of my favorite bloggers from younghouselove.com just did their family room in a very pale gray. They used BM Moonshine 2140-60 mixed in Olympic No-VOC paint. Google gray bedrooms or just rooms and there's a lot that comes up. The thing I love about SW, is they do the large sample pots vs BM's itty bitty ones (off the rack, they'll mix bigger ones). I like that even though a color doesn't work out in one room, you have enough in the nearly quart sized can to check it out in other rooms. Try painting big foam core boards with your colors. Don't forget to write the color on the back. That way you can move it around the room to see how the light affects the colors throughout the day. Also, you can re-use the boards for another room or pass them on to friends/family when they admire your awesome room! Good luck!
