This 2,100 square-foot converted loft in Cambridge, Massachusetts, got a refined and welcoming makeover by Dane Austin Design. The client, a commercial real estate professional, loved the exposed-brick walls and wood ceiling and beams but felt it was impersonal and stark. “He wanted us to make it feel more like home,” said studio principal Dane Austin. By integrating custom millwork and furnishings in sumptuous materials with a masculine vibe, our interior design team transformed the space into an inviting retreat with an easy and consistent flow. “On completion, the client was pleased to share a friend’s comment that, ‘It looks like a sophisticated place now,’” Austin recalls.
