My client for this Boston loft is a rising star in the tech world. She wanted a fabulous home that worked as her personal retreat where she could recharge. She requested a loungey atmosphere that feels glamorous where she could work, play, and unwind. To counterbalance the raw feel of this 1,200 sq ft two-bedroom space, I created a design scheme that blends femininity, sophistication, and the bling of Art Deco with earthy, natural accents. In the living room, I used an amoeba-shaped rug to break the linearity of the space and furnished it with unique pieces like a lady bug-red sleeper sofa with gold piping and complemented that with another curvy sofa. These are juxtaposed with chairs that have a Danish modern flavor, and the side tables add an earthy touch. The dining area doubles-up as a work station — it flaunts an elliptical-shaped table with gold velvet upholstered chairs and bubble chandeliers. The master bedroom is equally unique with a velvet, aubergine headboard on the bed. The whole look is completed with abstract murals and vibrant photography.
