Cabinets & Cabinetry

Elevated Style, Kitchen Remodel

A handsome home on an equally splendid lot, there were, sadly, equally conspicuous flaws in the interior. The heavy Tuscan-washed walls, cherry-stained maple cabinets, and 45 degree angles in the kitchen and family room were in stark contrast and lacked the subtle, sophisticated taste of this well-travelled family. Added fuel for fodder were previous outdoor improvements including a bluestone patio, screened gazebo, undulating flowerbeds, and manicured grounds. It was clearly time to focus on this lackluster interior.

Gracious hosts, the homeowners sought greater ease in which to live and entertain along with updated finishes and a neutral palette. Serene, calm and easy became the bywords. Gone are the dark cabinets, black granite, faux finish walls, and glut of recessed can lights. Widening the opening to the family room and relocating the television wall created a warmer, larger, and more inviting space for family and friends.

Timeless white and marble-like quartz married with a smattering of bronze details combined to make a luxe surrounding. Sparkling understated tile, furniture legs with ferrules, mesh wire cabinet doors, designer light fixtures, and professional grade Wolf and Subzero appliances all add to this picturesque space. Sumptuous but not ostentatious. A study in casual elegance, this home is finally in harmony with, and can rival, its setting.
