Those of you with dial up this will take a long time to load but has some of the best pictures I've ever seen. I love roses so many or most of them are rose gardens. Comments (18)I sure know how you feel. Stoney, look at that time as a gift. We don't always get that special extra time with our grown "kids." I know you'll miss him, but be proud of him because he has pulled himself up with love and support from the family, and that is really special. 3-1/2 hours is not so much, and you can see him often. You could even both drive and meet mid-way for an afternoon or whatever. Our sons visit often, but I always feel a tiny bit of sadness in a corner of my heart when they go. Comments (145)It sounds to me like someone checked off the names they wanted in Outlook or a similar contact manager and paid no attention at all to how the names were said or if there would be a question as to whether it meant plus spouses, plus children, etc. Not so much lacking in etiquette as utterly clueless about how to make a guest list in the first place. Anne, good for you for sticking with the notion that these are good friends even when feelings were being hurt. There are a heck of a lot of clueless people in the world and it would be a lonely place if we dumped all of them just for one thoughtless gaff. As to gifts, thinking along the lines of Littlebug's joke, how about a home organizer kit? If they're combining two households, plus wedding gifts, they probably have a lot of stuff, some of it valuable. A home organizer kit, with one of those engraving pens for marking electronics, ledgers (spreadsheets) for insureables, pouches for receipts, a binder for insurance policies, bank documents, trust papers, etc., a file box for instruction manuals, plus things like note paper to write the stories of heirlooms on, colorful stickers, maybe even a garage sale kit, could also help them learn to be organized. :) Or you can get them something as random as the invitation. Go to a china shop or department store with a good return policy for bridal and get the most interesting looking random thing in your price range. Comments (4)One note, the perspective of the photos is a bit confusing. In most, the rug almost looks like it goes to the wall but in 1st one there looks like there is a lot of room. So it's kind of hard to know sizing and spatial relationships. But, here are a couple thoughts: The glass and black rect coffee table is kind of cold and impersonal. Something wood tone and/or oval or with some curve would help soften the room. Electronic cords really bring a space down. Is there a way to hide them? You could set TV on a console and hide cords behind. Although the chair would no longer fit. If you keep a chair there make it more functional. Add a little table where you can set a cup of coffee while curling up with a book and occasionally enjoy the view outside. Right now, the chair is just an extra seat. Hopefully Beverly sees your post and can provide layout options. She is the best at it. A tallish plant like a ficus or rubber tree etc would look good in a corner. Mirror by entrance is small and unconnected to anything and doesn't reflect anything interesting. What is the pipe next to it? A stove pipe? I'm also not a fan of the small side table by the couch. seems crammed in there though I understand why you have it. Maybe declutter it. Your view is so pretty and relaxing you prob don't need window dressing unless privacy is an issue. The view is really the star of this room....See More
