So what do you store in your corner cabinet?
Comments (8)We have 2 susan cabinets. I keep all of the stuff that wouldn't fit elsewhere--sodas, bottles of juices, larger tupperwares and disposable plastics (rarely use either but I like to have them around), salad spinner, lunch boxes and snack bags. Around the edges of the cabinet I keep cutting boards on end. We have super susans and there is a little space between the turntable and the shelf below--I slip extra pans for the toaster oven and an extra turntable for the mw in the slot since they are closer to the susan than the divided tray cabinet....See MoreWhat do you store in your upper cabinets?
Comments (9)I think it depends. Our family is fairly tall...ranging from the shortest person (me) at 5'10" to the tallest (DH, so far) at 6'5". We decided that, for us, dishes in the upper cabinets worked better as the first two shelves are at a perfect height for us when taking things out/putting things away. We can all reach even the top most shelf of our 36" tall cabinets w/o assistance...I can't reach the very back of the top most shelf (we have 3 shelves + the bottom of the cabinet in each one, so the top shelf is pretty high), but I can reach half-way in. What we did do is put things like pots & pans, mixing bowls, casserole/baking dishes, etc. in the drawers b/c (1) they're heavier and it's easier to lift something heavy up then pull it out & down, (2) several are too big to store efficiently in upper cabinets (12" & 15" depth), (3) we have a lot more room in drawers so we can keep them together in the right zones, and (4) I'm the one that uses most of these items & I'm the shortest! I think my height is just right for either upper cabinets or drawers. I suspect 6' is the point at which it starts becoming better to use upper cabs for dishes & glasses. So...drawers:...See MoreHelp - What to do with the narrow 6' gap in our upper cabinets
Comments (23)All great suggestions. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for the drawings, too, that helps a lot. Still don't know what exactly to do. I am kind of giving up on the idea of a pot rack on the open wall, as it maybe too narrow. I guess I will know better, when things come to place. The bump out is 12" in. The gap is actually 7 3/8" total, I think, so with the cabinetry, the gap will be about 6". I guess, it is hard to know exactly without putting the cabinets up, since our walls may not be all even, so I am holding of until we know better. On the other hand, this may interfere with the installation of the hood cabinet, too, as you have to install these pull outs before they are surrounded by other cabinets and it maybe better to have everything at hand. Trying to decide. Thanks again! Pinar...See MoreWhat do you store in your Angled Base Cabinet?
Comments (5)I have angled base and upper cabinets on each side of my corner oven cabinet. I was wondering what I would be able to put in those cabinets. I am pleasantly surprised at what I am able to store in them. The lowers have hinged doors on them so it should still be easy to access the contents once the counter tops are on. The angled uppers each have two doors.I have glassware in those cabinets. Here are some pictures of the lowers....See More- last month
