Festive Floof! Need suggestions!

last year
last modified: last year

I am giddily wallowing in the holiday season. It has begun and while almost over, "phase one" spooky season is winding down.

This year, I decided to up my Thanksgiving decor game at work. Usually, I go ALL OUT for Halloween and Christmas, but for Thanksgiving I just put a 6 foot inflatable turkey outside the building, and sprinkle a few turkey decorations inside. All my Thanksgiving décor fits into one of those boxes that reams of printer paper comes in. But, since I am expecting to work most nights in November due to our staffing shortage, I decided to pep it up. I am not going as nuts as I do for the other big 2 holidays, just ramping it up. I got some properly themed photo backdrops to cover the windows with, ( I do this for Halloween and Christmas already) That makes a big impact. Also, a huge roll of leaf tablecloth that comes with a cutter (its plastic). I will cover the walls with that. A new turkey clock, as the old one is broken, a ton of magnets to put on the doors, file cabinet, fridge, etc. I got a roll of turkey wrapping paper to cover the counter, some leaf garland lights and some cartoon turkey things that hang from the ceiling. It will end up looking like a kindergarten classroom I think, but whatever. Its better than the off white cinder block walls to stare at.

I also created my own version of the "What's your elf name?" game. I found a "What's your turkey name?" version on the internet, but I did not find ALL the options as amusing as I would like, so I took bits and pieces of the ones I found and picked my own weird little brain and made my own version, typed it up and laminated it. I know my truck drivers and coworkers will have a laugh from it.

For the Thanksgiving version of the game I made 3 categories in chart form. The month you were born would be your "title." The first letter of your first name would determine your first name and the first letter of your last name would determine your last name. Mine, in case you are wondering is "Her Royal Highness Nibbles McGobbler."

Now, to the suggestions I need. I actually need them for the Christmas version, AKA "What's your Elf Name? I will still do the first and last name the same. And I have come up with all variations of both first and last names for the game. But instead of a "title" part, I thought it would be fun to have the month one was born determine which "department" of Santa's workshop you work in. So far, the departments I have thought of are:

Toy Making

Wrapping

Sleigh Maintenance

Reindeer Care

Coal Acquisition

Stocking Stuffing

Cookie Baking

I am not in love with all of these and wonder if any of you could come up with more. I do realize that it is early but the actual decorating is all done by me, and I like to have things like this done, made and ready to go up when its time, and I still have lots of other things to do for that particular display. I need to get and decorate a stocking for our new hire, provided she sticks around, I need to get more treat buckets to distribute and the goodies to fill them with, I need to find more varieties of wrapping paper to cover the walls with. So something like this, yeah I want to get it done now before my brain gets too muddled. So, any suggestions? Which department would YOU want to work in?
