Do you have a Shaws Fireclay Sink with an Extended Flange with a garbage disposal? Does yours look thin? Does food lodge around its edge and the Shaws sink flange cut-out?

Hi june, I am on about 4 acres and there are woods on most sides of the property and only one neighbor on one side that I can see and its fenced there lol. So escapee passiflora and other vines aren't a problem. In fact, there are "wild /rogue" trumpet vines, japanese honeysuckle, and carolina jessamine growing all crazy out in the woods and up various trees on the back of the property. I have a lot of gulf frits so they do keep the escaped (from pots) passies under control here too. For additional control, I grow most of my passiflora in pots and use 3 tall bamboo poles tied together at the top in the large pots. Then I use fishing line and black electrical tape to create a little trellis for them to attach their tendrils onto between the bamboo poles. Then I position the pots up against a fence or tree and let them climb that way once they grow over the bamboo poles. When it freezes, I cut them back to the length of the bamboo pole/trellis and move the pots into the gh because some of the passies I grow will freeze back badly and some are tropical so gh culture during the winter is best for those. ~SJN

@Heruga (7a NJ), I looked back at last year's pictures and I didnt have flowers until September. All winter I had plans to take it out of the container and plant it in the ground once I wheeled it out of the garage. I even got to the point of lifting it out of the pot! I pulled it out easily as it was/is completely root bound but a mini emergency came up and I put it back down and now I will leave well enough alone. I keep reading that these plants have a shorter life span.If and when it does "leave me" I will for sure buy another one. I have really enjoyed my first experiences with Caryopteris.

Since I retired I’ve tried to travel as much as I can (I do love being at home, too) because I’m 75 and feel the clock ticking…last April I traveled to Japan with my DS who had been before and planned our trip, and I would love to go back next year. The culture is fascinating, with so many beautiful parks, temples, shrines and museums, great people-watching, nature to hike and explore, and the food is incredibly varied and delicious- and it’s very inexpensive for us Americans right now. It’s extremely safe, clean and easy to get around. I recommend it! That was my first trip to Asia. I visited to French Polynesia four times (including our honeymoon) decades ago; our favorite island was Rangiroa, but all the islands we visited were so beautiful. I do tend to go back to my favorite places to explore them more deeply and enjoy them in a relaxed way. I visit the north shore of Kauai every year with friends who love it as I do. The beach where we stay (Tunnels) is possibly the most beautiful place I’ll ever see, and it never gets old. Ive been to the other Hawaiian islands as well (except Lanai), but Kauai is my favorite. I’ve also loved beach vacations in Costa Rica and Holbox, Mexico. More recently, I travel to France twice a year, always to Paris plus another area as well. Last year I did a three week road trip from Provence through the Lot, the Dordogne, and Brittany with friends who’d never been to France- so fun, and I didn’t have to drive! In early December I went to Nice solo and explored the Côte d’Azur for a week, bookended by weeks in Paris. In September I’m returning to France for a month, and will take a Road Scholar tour with my sister through Southwest France and the Pyrenees to Barcelona (the only European city I haven’t loved), bookended by solo Paris stays. This will only be my second guided tour, but it’s something I might need to rely on more as I get older. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of exploring France. Over the years I’ve stayed with friends and family in Utrecht, Brussels, Zurich and Tuscany, and enjoyed all of it, taking lots of day trips. Venice is my favorite city in Italy. I want to go to Scandinavia! My daughter went to university in Vancouver so I had a great excuse to visit that beautiful city and a few of the islands nearby, and I’ve visited friends in Toronto- who I met on a wonderful barge cruise in Burgundy (I highly recommend this, too!), and Montreal and Quebec City. I’ll stop there, and apologize that this got so long, and that for some reason I can’t write in paragraphs on Houzz.
