Counting down... 2 weeks to go...
Comments (23)Poppin, dont get over worked with kkny. She's made it very clear to all on this forum she does have issues with SM's . She has made it out on numberous occasions to take one line and twist it and stir up the pot on this forum. There was even on blog completely dedicated to shooting her down. Yes she is a human entirely entitled to her opinion but for the most part the tends to put down many sm on this forum and that they 'have their place in life' Hate to break ti to you. Reality. Dad has remarried and we all have our places . Evne stepkids. And they are not special. They are like any other kids with their own sets of problems. Sm are not evil. We are not out to get skids in any way. You can blow off yoru horn till you are blue... There are many sm onthis forum who care love and cherish their skids. Just like poppin here. I even do care for my skids...even though i get very angry at them at times. I get pist off at my own child as well. 2 weeks has made her feelign quite clear. SHE AND HER HUSBAND ARE FED UP but have left the door open for her. She is clearly making her own decision here. So stop accusing sm here of not caring. We are here to vent our frustrations. Not to chain up our skids. We are here to vent as parents in all shapes and sizes. Look at the facts. 1. SD is 18 2.SHE DECIDED TO LEAVE. 3. She has a druggie boy friend who is not welcome in the house...hope mom locks him out as well 4. She has typical teenage attitude...not because she is a stepchild but because she is 18 and knows it all...lol.. You obvious have something personal going on right now....cause for a few months you were pretty fair and nice....and in the last 2 weeks your nasty side has come out? Are you ok? Are you frustrated with somethign you are not talking about ? Are you pist off at SM in yoru situation???? i kow your hubby cheated on you...completly understand that situ.....but why are you so negative at times.? I get emotional too...but lok at poppin facts here. How would you handle a druggie who doesn't want help. Is leaving your house, disrespects you. You've spoken toyour husband and he does nothing or can' t do anything? So are you going to be looked at as a monster?????? Why do youtreat others like this? p.s poppins..i really hope your sd does get some help. My niece went from pot to cocaine. She was put in rehab by her dad and mom. Both divorced but same situ as you exactly. turned 18...had a druggie boyfriend from 16...and things just accelerated...1000$ car ticket. Caught driving drunk.....10,000$ ina rehab for 3 months...you think dad is proud???...See MoreWeek 7: Let's Go! Let's Go! L-E-T-'S_G-O!
Comments (44)First, Shicksal, great news. You're coming along really fast. Today is an odd day. At 6:30 this morning I went to Wal-Mart to put money on my debit card and buy a little hotdog roller for this job. My friend who is an electrician is here. I've got my two pendants over the peninsula hung, but learned somehow, the switch to them isn't powered, but the outlets next to them is. He's replaced two dimmers with regular switches. One of the benefits of doing this alone is the onus being off changing my mind. These dimmers just kinda made me crazy, so regular switches they're becoming. I gotta tell you. I'm a walking posterboard for Lutron. Now 15 dimmers, 12 motion sensors, and other fun stuff. Love 'em. He's also going to put in some outlets. Sad. I'll have to find other places to hang my laundry. He and another friend put a kitchen cabinet on the wall for me. I can hang 'em, but lifting these two onto cleats is way beyond my balance. Remember, I have to stand on the counter, press my head against the ceiling and screw things in. Lifting over a cleat and not falling off the counter backwards is something I don't want to attempt. But, getting this on the wall frees up a bunch of space. I can load it full of crap, then make doors. While he's working, I've put 4 handles on cabinets in my MBR. Got about 30 to go. I primed the two shelves for the cleat cabinets. They're an odd shape, W3624s. Custom, of course, from H4H and S.O.L.I.D. 3/4" maple. Minus shelves, so I cut those out of 3/4" MDF and will probably paint them a coral BM color I love. I've remudded the chewed up MBR wall. I've sanded and mudded yet again. I've gotten rid of 4 medium sized boxes of lighting materials, and a box of thrift store drawers I bought for their hardware and Blum release switches still attached. $2.00 a drawer box. Yeah man! I emptied the DW. Like to load it, hate to unload it. This was probably the greatest accomplishment of the day. Did a load of laundry/uniforms and got them into the dryer. Changed the cat litter. They're all happy with me. Arranged the MBR furniture and will bring the cabinets still in the kitchen back, since to paint I took a bunch down. I'm making room all over the place. I'll tell you. Lethargy, thy name is Christine. I hate this heat and incessant sun. This is more than I've accomplished all darned week, and it's only to kill time while someone else is working! Keep up the great work, all! You encourage me. Greenhaven, have a FUN time! Happy 4th, all!...See MoreKnee Surgery -counting down til free
Comments (9)Thanks for checking in socks! We are at a week today since surgery and overall things are going well. She is starting to put some pressure on her foot when she walks and the incision is healing well. They warned us there would be lots of bruising and swelling but the bruising was pretty minimal and she never swelled. I did ice her the first two days home a couple of times a day though- I know that helped a lot. We are having to keep her sedated - we are alternating her pain meds and trazadone ( half the dose they sent us home with) so she doesn't get too active. Earlier this week when I kenneled her to walk Sam, she decided she didn't want to be in the kennel and while we were gone ( 15 minutes) she managed to push her kong under the mat, bend the door frame and chew through her harness in two places. Needless to say, that was when I had to commit to sedation for her own good. My hubby ( who has had several major surgeries) thinks it would be better for her anyways if this time of healing was just a blur. We did have some issues with her drinking water though- took her off of the Rimadyl at day 5 in case her kidneys were being affected ( talked with surgeon's office). I didn't want her dehydrating though so we diluted some low sodium chicken broth and she drank that right up. Her appetite is good, pee and poop look fine and tonight we just might try to see if she has graduated to the no "cone of shame" at bedtime. Lots of snuggles and even a low key game or two of find it. When her new harness arrives we might start taking her out in the front yard for sniffs and change of scenery ( lol, as long as the neighbor cats are not around)....See MoreTrying to get up off the floor with bad knees - question
Comments (46)Several weeks ago, my neighbor Lisa brought my neighbor Joanne's dog to my house and asked me if I knew where he lived. I thought it was odd, because I have lived here about eight years, and Rusty has never let me get my hands on him, yet he had gone straight to this lady's garage sale, walked up to her, and let her put a leash on him. I walked with her to Joanne's house. We were just about to knock, when we heard someone calling. Jo-Ann, who had just had both knees replaced, had tripped over an old fence lying on the ground at rhr edge of the lot next door to her house. Although this is in town, she lived on a 1/2 acre lot with a vacant lot next door,so there was no one within shouting distance. When she began to fall, she braced herself with one hand and hit the ground with all her weight on that hand, breaking her wrist. She was unable to get up. Her dog Rusty had gone to get the neighbor! Moral to my story is... keep your phone in your pocket!...See More- 2 years ago
