I usually don't do this - recommend a product
Comments (13)Rozanna, I think we are all interested, so share the web address? "Evelyn" by Crabtree and Evelyn is one of my favorite scents, and since it is not a heavy one I wear it to work alot. There was a rose colone about 20 or 25 years ago that was wonderful, made by Yardley, had a very fresh green tang to it, frosted glass bottle and pink plastic lid, and I can't remember the name of the stuff. If I could ever find it, I would buy a gallon of it, it was very true rose scented and very inexpensive. You know what else I remember loving a long time ago? Most of the Gardenia scented colones/perfumes just smell like soap- none of them seem to smell like the real thing. Back in the 70's, if you can believe this (and I know it sounds unbelievable, but) AVON used to make a gardenia sachet that smelled exactly like the growing living blooms! I sure miss that fragrance, they quit making it long, long ago!...See MoreI'm not gonna learn if I don't ask...
Comments (5)My broccoli plants are ready to go, but I think I'll pot them up again and hold them another 10-14 days. I just don't trust the cold nights...we're having too many of them still for me to feel comfortable putting broc in the ground, and I don't want to plant them and then have to cover them up every cold night. I think the long post on damping off (was a response for Tranger, I think) included broccoli buttonhead info at the end of it and that's probably the one Dorothy's referring to. I'll go find it and link it. I second Dorothy's blood meal recommendation (darn it, I knew I forgot to buy something at Home Depot yesterday, and it was the blood meal!). I also like to add composted cow manure to my future broccoli bed a week or two before I plant. They just love the nitrogen in it. I've been so inspired by the "prayer warriors" on here of late, that I'm always going to take the time to say a prayer even if I don't get to post....See MoreOk scents don't usually bother me....BUT
Comments (49)gsciencechick - my husband works away 10 days at a time, and the facility he lives in provides laundry soap. When he came home I had to rewash all of his clothing, and I could still still smell whatever soap they were providing. He ended up taking some of his own unscented detergent & dryer sheets with him. I use Nellie's All-Natural Washing Soda and LOVE it. Deodorant is another scented product that I too find intolerable. And it can be hard to find a good unscented antiperspirant. I'm also a fan of Dr. Bronner's (love the Almond scent), Seventh Generation (fabric softener) and Method (I like the lemon-mint hand soap). Naturally scented products, ie: peppermint, lemon, etc. are much more tolerable for me....See Morebeesneeds
