I don't usually ask this

but I'd really, really appreciate some good thoughts for a very special young woman I know. She's home on winter break from college and was just diagnosed with viral menningitis. That's the less serious version, but she's still very sick. She's such a lovely person, someone who cares so much about all around her, that I want to return some of that love to her.

Rozanna, I think we are all interested, so share the web address? "Evelyn" by Crabtree and Evelyn is one of my favorite scents, and since it is not a heavy one I wear it to work alot. There was a rose colone about 20 or 25 years ago that was wonderful, made by Yardley, had a very fresh green tang to it, frosted glass bottle and pink plastic lid, and I can't remember the name of the stuff. If I could ever find it, I would buy a gallon of it, it was very true rose scented and very inexpensive. You know what else I remember loving a long time ago? Most of the Gardenia scented colones/perfumes just smell like soap- none of them seem to smell like the real thing. Back in the 70's, if you can believe this (and I know it sounds unbelievable, but) AVON used to make a gardenia sachet that smelled exactly like the growing living blooms! I sure miss that fragrance, they quit making it long, long ago!

I want to thank you all again for such wonderful thoughts. I can't believe you guys are total strangers for the most part but I get so much from "knowing" you all this way & am so glad I joined the KT. I heard this morning that Ken is doing good (such a miracle) & is expected to be back at work next Monday already. I hope he takes this accident as a sign & even tho I know he's not what I'd call a religious person, maybe there's a message there somewhere.

I'm not trying to defend the pro, but if I had some tiles or ? that I hated, (not sure if that was the case here) and there was a way to cover them without ruining them for the next owner (in other words, in a way to preserve them with no damage and easy reversal) I don't see any reason not to. Sometimes a poster doesn't really convey their strong likes and dislikes. And sometimes, actually a lot of times, pros suggest things that they themselves would do if it were their home, or just according to their style of decorating. I've seen a lot of suggestions from pros and non pros repeating the same style, color, etc. when the poster has not given their preferences. Which is fine, especially when they just want a range of ideas. Now, the way the suggestion is made, the tone, makes a big difference. But really the pro should have asked if the home owner hated the tile enough to want to cover it. Just think the response to the suggestion of painting them is a bit harsh. Or am I missing something? Does this go deeper than just this one post? ETA Personally, if I didn't like the lime green and it made it difficult to decorate around, I would find a way to cover it. I wouldn't want to be a slave to a sliver of color. And I wouldn't be swayed by an army of lime green lovers. Don't hate me because I don't like lime green!

I will certainly say a prayer for her. I had to read up on it, as I am unfamiliar with this. It looks like it usually runs its course in 7-10 days. Bless Her Heart! What a way to spend your college break.
