TLC for bare roots in dry summer of zone 9B, NorCal, Sunset 15.

So I might have gone a little overboard and bought quite a few bare root roses . ( Because they were on sale and I needed to feel better on a terribly tough day.) They are arriving today.

Does anyone have any idea how to provide some extra care for them so that they do live?

I am going to plant them in containers and put a 80% shade cloth over them. I also got a ‘moisture meter’ ( because I have been ruining my fingers sticking them in soil) and water them accordingly.
Anything else I should be doing?
I am aware that this might be an uphill climb, but I’ll do my best!
