Are two mirrors in this bathroom too much? PIP
Comments (7)I agree that in that space another mirror is too much - and it really doesn't fit with the decor, as blfenton mentioned. Plus I am not sure people want to stare at themselves while seated on the 'throne'. I am wondering why the towel bar is on the opposite wall, so far from the sink? I guess I would be inclined to move the towel bar and the pix over it to the spot above the toilet, move the shelf, perhaps adding a pretty plant for softness, to the wall where the towel bar currently resides (but not hung quite as high as the shelf is now). Art is a subjective thing, but I am not loving the new art piece for the big wall. Something more rounded there, and not framed in black, would be nice to pick up the rounded/oval details on your light fixture, toilet and sink....See MoreBathroom backsplash-too much?
Comments (22)Mayflowers, where did all your examples go?! I like those ideas. I posted then had to get my kid showered after swimming so didn't respond to all of them...then got distracted by a tree trunk ;) Love your ideas. I wouldn't go crazy there at all for backsplash. I also don't want grey..it doesn't do anything for the space....See MoreSmall bathroom remodel & electrical - 25-27k, is this too much?
Comments (3)Hi! Some years ago; I remodel an entire apartment in Richmond area in SF! There are lots of bad contractors in SF. I would be careful and get references that are recent jobs done, get their licenses and bonding insurance. Call or go online to check that their license and insurance is still valid. Finally, check with the Better Business Bureau inquiries on your contractor(s). The best lead to get a great contractor is by asking around your neighborhood and/or friends and acquaintances that had work done on their bathrooms. The price of $25K seems high to me but you will not really know unless you get four or five competing bids to see how they compare to one another. Choice the one in the middle is the way I go about it if I do not know anything about them and just guess. Never do that - guess! Base it on facts - like jobs they done recently - from acquaintance and friends. References from strangers are not that good since it could be a relative or a friend of the contractor!...See MoreSame tiles bathroom walls, laundry and kitchen splashback? too much??
Comments (9)I do like to have a separation in looks between a kitchen and bathroom. When we made our powder room, which is very much next to the kitchen, it was important to feel like there was a psychological separation between the two spaces. Also nice for guests to feel that separation too when they go to the John! I would think about a variation on the theme for the kitchen. Are there similar tiles but different size shape and lighter grout?...See MoreKendrah
