HOUSE TOUR: Inside a Glamorously Gut-Renovated Home
Comments (69)Well said, Rorah. I absolutely respect your opinion on the topics we’ve discussed here specifically even though we disagree. And do agree that criticizing how people speak is a poor way to change behavior when often there are underlying issues that need to be addressed with tact and compassion. Not all the speech patterns and/ or affectations we’ve discussed are fads, but not all are indications of lack of confidence either. I know I am very influenced by the opinions of my daughter who in her early 30’s is in a male dominated profession with fewer than 10% female representation. I will offer one last thought on the topics of vocal fry and uptalk, my opinion and theory only, and that is as there are fewer opportunities to sing the variety and prevalence of such patterns will increase. Group singing used to be a very common activity— in churches, schools, and families. It’s no longer a widespread form of entertainment and many young children are no longer taught to sing. People who enjoy singing, either in informal groups or school choruses or hymns or at home, do not seem to develop the type of vocal anomalies we’ve been discussing....See MoreHOUSE TOUR: Inside a Charming New Orleans Home with Cozy Library
Comments (3)Wonderful. I like the home owner better than any I have seen on Homeworthy (well, I also liked the guy in California I think it was who was funny and down to earth). This guy is much the same, but a little more reserved, actually a lot more, but still so normal and relaxed. Any man so fond of his grandmother is pretty darn wonderful as far as I am concerned. I like the house a lot, too. I want that green velvet sofa. I will probably watch it again. Most of the time I don't even finish watching one complete episode because the owner's voice is so irritating, or the personality is so pretentious, or I am just not taken by the house or decor, but this one was terrific, I think. Thanks for this, Gizmo....See MoreHOUSE TOUR: Washington, D.C. Home Filled with Art from Around the Worl
Comments (3)I didnt love this one. Once she totally skipped the kitchen I stopped watching. The kitchen is the best part! I really enjoy the Homeworthy videos, overall. My favorites include the huge house on the Maine coastline, the NY brownstone of the designer who was formerly wih Ralph Lauren, and the Carlyle hotel. I also like seeing the creative places people make in their tiny apartments. Nicole...See MoreOk, here is a Homeworthy I really liked
Comments (20)My primary point is not whether or not I Ilked it. My point was that it was Homeworthy and still *somewhat* relatable rather than the largely unattainable fare of highend shelter mags. KSWL The glasses! Maybe if Iris Apfel and Lily Pulitzer had a baby. : ) I liked the wallpaper in the K w the tile.... b/w and foliage is so classic. I think she belongs in Palm Beach. Sue, I love the barrister case with mirrored front. I went to her site too. Her prices are very high though. Eg I like these simple ornaments. $60 each? still over priced at half that! Same comment about these cute but not extraordinary napkins; $60 for TWO?...See MoreFun2BHere
