Paul Welschmeyer ARCHITECTS & energy consultants
Houzz Readers,

Thanks for all your comments. As this conversation seems to be ending on the energy note, which may be better understood as “ the elimination of unintentional waste”, I would like to direct you to another site of interest.

You may not know that I’m a member of the AIACC Energy and the Build Environment Steering Committee, and the AIACC Liaison to the California Energy Commission. Also in 2011-2012 I was sponsored by PG&E to provide energy specific continuing education for California’s architects through a program, “Moving Architects Toward Building Performance”.

In order to help home owners, colleagues and clients with questions regarding the changing energy regulations in California I have set up a Facebook page that presents and allows discussions on this critical subject.

I hope you find this information useful, and your comments are desired as it expands the educational opportunities to all readers.

Please follow this link the PWaec Energy Facebook page:

Thanks,

Paul Welschmeyer, AIA

Was wondering if you could say how much this cost to do - just a rough number? I have a small 1940s home in San Diego and am looking to do something similar.
