Corner hutch is currently in a colonial green color… should I paint it white??

Faron or paintguy may have better input, but here's my 2 cents. Before painting latex over oil, you need to use a primer that can coat oil paint and be top-coated with latex. I believe you'll want to stick to an oil primer for this. Once the stripe of primer has dried, you can cover it with your yellow latex. Personally, I think it'd be easier to stick with spraypaint and use delicate surface painters tape & masking paper to cover the areas you don't want yellow.

Trends come and go, right now dark wood is out, and so in your mind your home looks dark. You bought that home for a reason, you loved the wood. Learning to decorate around the more permanent parts of your home forces you to be creative and makes a more interesting space, learn to see it as an exciting challenge. The floor is too light and so is the ceiling. It is actually the lightness that makes the wood feel so dark. Look up craftsman homes. They are only wood; pay attention to the paint colors. I promise you if you paint it all the charm will be lost and the room will feel too big.

love the wood, and retiring to a cabin, I'm so jealous. you could certainly add some light through the pieces around the room. a quick white wash to the table and chair set and the coffee table. I love the black white check theme you have started, keep going with that and pretty soon the wood will fade into the background. maybe white wash the two columns and maybe pick an accent wall to paint to add some contast to the wood. and I think the rugs will go a long way to brighten up the space. if you do decide to paint some of the wood, remember, the wood will always be there to return to for you or another later. good luck and happy sleeping in, you deserve it.

Absolutely. White toilet, and shower are the most popular right now. I have BM China White is a bathroom with all white. Dove White is very white while your other choices will have a hint of color and look nice with white molding and doors. If you do Dove White, what would be your trim? There are so many “whites” I just did BM Elmira White in my kitchen. I needed an update and wanted it to be pared with my granite and backsplash. Start understanding undertones and what expisure your rooms have. Natural light makes all the difference. Sometimes it doesn't matter as all the detiviatives look nice anyway. For example, we usedp BM Manchester Tan in quite a few spaces and it never disappoints. Shoji and Swiss Coffee have been popular for years, so you probably can't go wrong. Your bathrooms can certainly be other colors. Are you planning on only white tiles in all the bathrooms? We did our Florida home in a version of BM Simply White and my style is transitional. Bathrooms were painted other colors.

The whole room is quite charming. Changing it to white (yawn) could be expected but I still love the green and it has black hardware. The black sideboard looks pretty with the wall accents. Drapes are lovely.

It looks like a very nice cabinet. I am not fond of the color green, but, it seems to fit in that corner. I maybe would repaint the sideboard to match the cabinet, rather than painting the cabinet. Definitely not white. What color is the table, since we cant really see that. I wouldnt change the hardware on the cabinet since whats there fits nicely on the cabinet, and looks original. I might change the hardware on the sideboard to match the corner cabinet.

The black corner piece, curtains, wall color, and current corner cabinet color are wonderful together. Don't change a thing. You have great taste.
